Very relieved to see Carty named on that team.

Is Blade ahead of Marmion tactical or injury/fitness based?

Strong team, glad McCoy is back. interesting Conan ahead of Carey. Blade deservedly starts, with serious impact from marmion off the bench. Would have had godwin at 22 Incase carty has to go off. I’d back that team to bring home a bonus point win but mentality has to be right.

My guess would be keeping Blade match fit, Marmion has started the past few games and Friend probably wants to keep Blade at the level he's been playing this season

Another thing to keep an eye on in this run in is how the conferences will be set up for the next two years. I believe it just depends on this seasons tables and not over the last two years. Anyways One conference is Ireland’s 2nd and 3rd ranked teams and the other is Ireland’s 1st and 4th ranked teams. As it stands ulster are on 54 points and ranked third and Connacht are on 52 points and ranked 4th. As it stands connschts conference would be
    Leinster
    Scarlets
    Ospreys
    Glasgow
    Zebre
    Cheetahs

Assuming that Scarlets and Ospreys bounce back into better form, that is a very tough conference.

    Very good team.
Carey's fit so sign of trust for O'Donnell

Is Carey definitely fit? Not sure he is, Ryan lomas is 24th man.. would have thought it would be a bit risky having a sub academy player as 24th man opposed to Carey.. open to correction though

Being a home game if someone goes down injured before hand it's probably straightforward enough to get someone togged out and ready. There's usually a few lads not involved int the match squad working out on the pitch before games anyway.

I think being named 24th man is more about rewarding young lads that have trained well and giving them some experience in and around the match day squad.

Didn’t lomas play schools at loosehead? Could be 24th man as he covers both sides?

24th man is not a reward for young lads training well it’s for having cover if someone pulls up late. Coaches will use whoever they see as best cover. It will often be young lads especially once a club has a few injuries and it’s a bit tight numbers wise.

Cardiff line out not looking great tonight, something Connacht should target next week

Very different playing age grade 1.5m scrums and not having played there in years to covering pro game

Tank u Munster. Please hit these for another 20 points.

Bit more like it, keep them out for the rest of the game now and happy days.

Was just reaching for a reason why picking lomas over Carey or Kenny. On reflection if a loosehead pulled out before the match Conan would probably swap to 17 and the tighthead outside the squad would just slot in at 18. Lomas must be showing more in training than the others which is promising

Hope Munster keep the foot on the gas and keep adding onto Cardiff’s points conceded total just Incase it’s needed

Would have totally agreed with this post at the time, some turnaround from there for Cardiff to end up with 0 match points and a -24 points difference. Fair play to Munster, great result for us.

Fair play to Munster. Excellent last 30 minutes and even Hanrahan was impressive.

Very nervy ahead of the Zebre match.

Thankfully the score line didn’t reflect 65 odd minutes of the match, a perfect result for Connacht

Kenny is out for the rest of the season with his shoulder hence why Conan is covering tighthead, I seriously doubt Carey is near being fit considering lomas never trained with the seniors until this week

Carey trained on Tuesday. If something happened, it's very recent...
