Leader and Heffernan back on the bench!
Same as last game otherwise (injuries excepted)

Back-3 is a quite unproven combination, but full of speed!
    The rest looks strong.
Will watch specifically Burke, has to step-up as soon as now!

    From 2013

    Marmion’s dream comes true!
The following article appeared in a recent edition of the Irish Examiner, about Kieran Marmion and paying tribute to Mick.
“England’s scouting department at Twickenham and their Welsh equivalent in Cardiff may be wondering this morning how they came to miss Kieran Marmion. They will have discovered that arguably the best uncapped scrum-half in the game, born in Wales, educated in England, has surfaced way out west as Ireland’s youngest No 9 contender and thereby hangs a poignant tale!
Mick Marmion from Loughrea never forgot his Connemara roots and always dreamt of watching his son play for Ireland. Mick loved the game and appeared at centre for Saracen’s in the early 80’s when they played on a park’s pitch in North London.
A schoolteacher, he coached Campion School, a Catholic Academy in Essex, whose Alumni include Tony Diprose of England and the Scottish Lion Damian Cronin. As Kieran grew up, his father fired him with an ambition to play for Ireland, even though the boy grew up in the Powys market town of Brecon and went to school on the Lancashire coast at Kirkham. When the Irish exiles got round to claiming him, Marmion junior was back in Wales studying at Cardiff University. Ironically, it took a former Wales coach, Mike Ruddock, to recognise the scrum-half’s latent talent and pick him for Ireland U20’s at the junior world cup last year.
So when his father’s old club pitched up in Galway on Friday, how appropriate that Kieran should win the “man of the match” accolade on a night when Connacht came close to seeing off the unbeaten English premiership leaders. Not even his father could have dreamt of that, or maybe he did!
Mick Marmion died three months ago in Wales after a long illness but not before his son had been pro- moted to the full Ireland squad in North America a few weeks ago.”

    Mul, it's over
    Agent talk.

Maybe this story is, but there will obviously be competition for his signature anyway. Would expect Pat Lam to be in with an offer.

Fair enough on Heenan, delighted to see it going well for him and long may it last but there are guys who for whom injuries don’t stop coming until they retire at a relatively young age.

And Heenan just has scored a try

Premier Sports clearly cut to their man in the stands to hold his phone up to record the crowd noise. Woeful coverage

Marmion under pressure at every box kick.

He looks really sharp otherwise but Marmion's box kicking is atrocious.

Someone's breathing heavily into a mic as well.

Forwards really struggling to win collisions.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,022 ✭✭✭Euphoriasean

Great try. They will keep finding gaps if they can retain the ball.

Absolutely. Fitzgerald and Godwin are dovetailing very nicely as dual playmakers, Peter Robb is making ground with every carry, and the wingers are looking really sharp.

Haven't got commentary but is that not a yellow card? Smashed a player in the air?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,977 ✭✭✭realhorrorshow

Forwards collectively having a stinker here. Weak carrying, missed tackles, soak tackles, scrum penalties, lost lineouts in the redzone, stupid penalties, very frustrating to watch.

Rarely see offside called in that situation. Was only a couple inches in it. Usually get some margin for error.

Could be a 14 point swing.

Game over... absolutely smashing us this half.

But done out of a try to retake the lead, scandalous decision.

He's just off but when do you see them called. Inches.

Exactly. Can't remember the last time I saw offside called on the line like that and it happens all the time but is usually ignored unless it's blatant. This was inches off.

Tough one to take as it turned into a 14 point swing.

Turned down an easy pen for a draw. Going for it.
