Rudderless in attack. Prob wouldnt score against 13 here tbh.

Attack was very blunt there 1 out runners a lot of them without a latch was never gonna score there.

Pity Fitz couldn't hold on to the cross kick

Bit like a repeat of the Munster game, Connacht just cannot convert any opportunities.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,339 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Connacht have spent about 15 minutes within 10 yards of the Ulster try line and have come away with 3 points.

Yes. There are some serious consequences entering the equation for late season.

Don’t think there are too many long term injuries. There’s a three week break after European Cup until Middle of February and even assuming Connacht get nothing tonight and in RDS, Connacht should be close enough to top 3 with half the games left. So I think they’ll be alright in Pro14 but whatever glimmer of hope there was in Europe is gone.

Decent start to the season but things going tits up since mid November.

Apart from Gloucester at home which was a bit of a robbery at the death.

Marshall just jumped off feet at ruck outside 23 before that try. Connacht poor but really bad miss by ref

Very much so we just can't seem to score and other teams get scores too easily far too often.

    TOH having a nightmare today

TOH has missed so many high balls he looks ready to take himself off.

FFS Tiernan time to take him off

TOH had missed so many high balls he looks miserable with himself.

    I don't think he's won a single contest tonight.

Can't see them bringing Horowitz on to be honest

Tiernan miles away from that one as well. Connacht lucky enough time come away with it.

The way Ulster are able to shift the ball wide and make big yards, as well as smothering any time Connacht get the ball it's almost like they're playing with an extra man.

Anyone who was complaining about Sportsground crowd last week must be furious about Ravenhill tonight.

Our protection of the ball has been an issue all season but absolutely woeful tonight

They’re a team missing ten plus first XV players. Connachts depth is improving but not to the extent they can handle that.

Dirty hit by Mcburney on kerins on the ground there - how has tmo missed that?

Edit - TMO caught it subsequently.

That was horrible stuff from McBurney, shocking that only a penalty was given.

Should be well more than a penalty. That is worthy of a citing. Smashed his shoulder into a player without possession on the ground. Dirty effort and should face a hearing although I can see it being glossed over.

Mcburney has a reputation for that

That sequence before half time was desperate. Mostly one guy taking the ball stationery with no latch or tip on option. Running into 3 defenders. That's poor no matter who is on the pitch.

were going backwards, the attitude is all off,

anyone who saw copeland interviewed after the munster loss would have seen it, laughing and joking,

for all friends talk, the 15 on the pitch dont look like they are playing for each other,

there's no one with a cut in them, why oh why would a few of the forwards not jump on mcburnley there.

muldoon would have been stuck in,.

It was poor. But judging the coaching based on a team that’s missing first choice second rows, first choice back row, first choice 9, Carty, first choice centres, at least one first choice back three player and whose two first choice props went off inside twenty minutes is moronic and looks like sticking the boot in. Didn’t see much commenting of coaching performance after good results last season or this season.

Jesus are we gone to hell the last few weeks. WTF is wrong - no intensity, no accuracy, pretty much handing over possession. Agree on the McBurney thing, he should have had a few players in his face after that.
TOH has been very poor, total liability under the high ball. And our backline moves have been so predictable, Ulster have read everything easily and met us behind the gainline constantly.
Expecting a record loss to Leinster at this rate
