Well neither of our back-row or centre pairing is weak defensively, are they?
They might target Carey or our back-3 indeed, but otherwise...

I was referring to the back three.
The kings have looked dangerous out wide in the games I have seen.

The strategy has to be what Leinster and Ulster used. Conceeding tries but scoring more

Heffernan seems to have pulled away as first choice and looks like he’s in the leadership group as he’s been captain. I’d say McCartney has probably been second. Delahunt hasn’t been bad when ever he has played just hasn’t played as much as I thought he should be after last season. Not sure if he’s had injury problems this season.

Tom Farrell leads Pro14 stats for any Irish centre:
    https://www.the42.ie/tom-farrell-ireland-camp-4357428-Nov2018/?amp=1
“The stats point to Farrell being Ireland’s top centre in the Pro14 for defenders beaten (21), offloads (14) and tries scored (2) and he says he was thrilled to get the chance to show Schmidt and his management his talents up close.”

Stats prove nothing. What are tackles made/missed? It's not all about attacking

Am I over estimating Ospreys and underestimating Blues here?

I think the Ospreys will lose a few games that you have them winning.

Connacht go to Cardiff end of January. Connacht should have a near full deck. Cardiff could be missing a good few more. This is a massive opportunity for Connacht now this season.

    Maybe.

The fact that I gave us wins in all three head to heads with our competitors and we still don't top the mini-group is a bit concerning.

Not 100% sure about those interpros either.

I think you have given Ospreys too much credit during the 6N period, they lose a fair few to Wales and seem to really lack strength in depth, would expect Ulster to beat them over there.

If Connacht can hang on in 3rd or even in close range to the start of the 6N, a playoff spot will be theirs for the losing imo. Connacht will probably only be down Aki & Marmion and should thrive in that period. Glasgow get decimated, the match over there should be lbp at worst for Connacht.

It's not a given the Ospreys get 10 points in SA either. They could lose at least one of them.

I can see Ospreys maxing out in mid 50s

I had the wrong current points total in my table earlier, here's the correct points totals*

    Connacht 26| Ospreys 23| Cardiff 22

*I had Connacht at 25 instead of 26

I suppose the main take away from that is we still must win the head to heads and our home interpros.

Even if we pull another BP win next week!

Love kellehers tackle, can’t stop watching it. I didn’t hear anything post match but did anyone from the management hint at if Buckley and sob were injured?

Looks like he sticks his head into your mans gut. Lucky not to damage his neck? If he didn't flip him he'd be a sore man after. But fab technique otherwise.

From pictures looks like Buckley and sob trained, hopefully no injures. Get the win this weekend and then rotate for Europe

Agreed. It's horrible technique. I love seeing big hits, but I winced. I know from personal experience how bad technique can **** up your neck for life.

he was lucky the saffer was drifting a little bit to the right, allowed Kelleher to pivot and not take the full force on his neck.

I missed the game at the weekend and an just getting a chance to watch it now.
Kelleher is playing much better defensively than I have seen before.
Putting in tackles, covering well and even making an impact at a few rucks.
Great stuff from him. Badly wanted, I hope he keeps it up.

Carty looks great! I didn't realise he had 80% kick conversion for the season so far, he really looks good.

I am looking forward to the Christmas interpros now!

completely agree about both players. Both liabilities, kicking rate (even difficult ones) for Jack, and defence for Cian, seem corrected. Very welcomed.
We need Roux and Aki to bring carrying power though.

Interesting article with thornbury on the 42. Turns out his dads side of the family are from Galway. Ireland are getting deserved credit for finding Irish qualified players but I think Connacht management deserve some credit too picking up some gems of Connacht qualified players such as thornbury, Farrell and Boyle.
