I hear connemara man won the Euromillions and is doing a JP McManus on it. Jerseys will carry the Sporting Conamara logo and he will fly in by helicopter from the Aran Islands, where he has bought out the rights to the Craggy Island podcast and is actually broadcasting from Craggy Island.

That or they've been given a sign from government that a grant is forthcoming...

Euromillions... It's all that mod money

oh wait was that a secret???...

So, the 4G pitch was inevitable without the training pitch but :

    1) Is is a definite move or is it possible to go back to grass if we find a training field somewhere near?. Don't say it will happen but could it if we change our mind?

    2) Is it better or worse under heavy rain?

Pretty sure ruane has said they want to keep everything in the sports ground as in not have to move for training so unless some lad becomes available adjacent to the sports ground they won’t be moving anywhere.

ask the scarlets players, think it was the Glasgow match last year, good few players got burns from the pitch. think there was an ankle injury also.

there has been a lot of study over the last couple of years on artificial pitches of varying types. I believe the general results were that there is no statistical difference..... but there is only limited data set available. I thing it may have been referenced at some point on this thread....

Tom Daly trained with Connacht today, don’t think there was any official confirmation. Wouldn’t expect him in the 23 this weekend anyways. Colm Reilly Oran mcnulty and Conor Hayes also trained with the seniors. Not sure if that’s just down to a lack of body’s in training or if they’ll be given the opportunity rather than bringing in medical jokers. Bundee and bealham pictures training with Connacht unlike Munster or Leinster internationals. I’d assume the Connacht lads will be available while Munster have said none of the international players will play for them. Up in the air if Leinster will play theirs

Could be the players Joe has released from camp trained, and some Leinster players were released too? Hopefully he hasn't released VDF or Sexton!

Yes, but today would be the second day, so if Bundee isn't there it suggests some players were released early to play this week.

Edit: And it would be interesting to know what Leinster players trained with Leinster rather than Ireland today.

Think it was Sunday/ Monday and that Leinster don’t train on Tuesdays? Either way missing one of the big pitch sessions a week would be a blow to preparation

Just going by what Munster are doing, who also have a big pitch session on mondays. I’d prefer the internationals to play. That way when Connacht win there’ll be no excuses

Only first choice players were retained.

I have every confidence in the ability of the clan to conjure up some excuses.

Don’t think you need excuses for losing to last years best team in Europe.

The red scrum cap will look great with the Munster jersey next season

Nah I think Munster will have to look to the development province for a 7, who have you lot go coming through?

I'm sure there's the usual collection of Australian and Islander imports for Munster to choose from as well as their standard South African fare.

AFAIK Leinster do train on Tuesdays, it's known as Stuesday for Lancaster's now legendary lung-busting pitch sessions that have been credited with last season's success.

Looking forward to seeing what he can offer. If he can stay fit, he’ll surely overtake Robb and griffin in the pecking order. Presume not going to be included at the weekend

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,965 ✭✭✭connachta

Absolutely no need to have him this week end. Bundee, Farrell and Godwin are all fit. Just here when we'll need rotation, I presume he will be registered for Challenge Cup and have a good chance to play vs Sale and/or Bordeaux, which are now meaningful gamss for Connacht.

3 weeks to train and fit in the gameplan is just fine.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,965 ✭✭✭connachta

McNulty and Reilly are very logically in the session, we miss wingers and SHs.

Still think Godwin and Leader will cover wing before we'd be forced to introduce a not-even 19 y.o on the pitch
For scrumhalf though, waiting for a medical joker, Reilly is our 3rd choice one injury away from playing big interpro or european games...

If stays fit you would imagine he would go ahead of them in pecking order.
No chance of playing this weekend. Be in squad for next games though id say

Doubt that Bundee will play in the next 2 weeks, doesn't he have an important date coming up?
