If you fail a module/exam, and you repeat it, does it show up on your transcript?

Or does it also effect your gpa and overall scoring since you're doing it the second time.

Most universities allow a max of 40% on repeated exams- not sure if UCD are the same. It is to stop people strategically retaking.

    What does that mean

Yes, if you fail a module it would generally appear on your transcript both that you failed it (so the failing grade would be there) and then the grade you got when you repeated it. That will generally show as a PR (pass repeat/resit) or as a CR, B+R, (C repeat, B+ repeat). And as xfactorfan23 said, regardless of what grade you get in the repeat, your grade will be capped at a GPA of 2.0 (so D- or 40%).
