I can do it on the laptop, holding 'Fn' with the up and down arrows. But I don't know how to do it with the keypad that I've attached to the laptop. But there doesn't seem to be any 'Fn' equivalent on the keypad!?

Would it be the function button along with one of the F1-F12 keys, one of the '' keys. There has to be a way.

Can you post a model number or something?
Are there any buttons on the keyboard showing a big and small sun or anything?

Some have it on the Home/End key

KB1021 is the model number at the back.

No, those icons aren't on this keypad.

Did the keypad disable the functionality on the laptop itself or something?

I don't like having to reach that far. I've the laptop set up very far away.

Maybe set up a key-combo to duplicate the laptop key functions and use those on the keyboard.

Create a couple of keyboard shortcuts for the functions.

How is dependent on your operating system.
Maybe someone with the same OS as you can advise.
