Has anyone done any first aid courses for babies/toddlers etc? My baby has started solids and I panic that I wouldn't know what to do god forbid anything happens!
    Thanks

Not sure where you're based but if you're in Dublin there's one on in the Maldron hotel on the Naas Road every Saturday that specialises in Paediatric First Aid. Look up "firstaidforeveryone" online.

Oh it is so scary when they choke or gag.. I know the basics from doing First aid years ago but it still shocks you. Herself gagged twice now on lega and rice crispies... Both of us are heading to do a couse on the 20th with this gang https://www.facebook.com/parentfirstaidireland/?fb_dtsg_ag=AdwSX3oyur171nsGIaF_dHGpv5bj_5_bld09T7lAUBt41Q%3AAdxh6U9WWBxd1mZaz-SQ-jc2NWTjj38cnFJMFgRnA6vmTw

They seem very good and come recommened. They do the course all over Ireland so might suit ye.. I can let you know after we do our one if tis any good

I did one with early years first aid. It was only 1/2 day.

About 2 months later, my daughter had a febrile convulsion and fortunately I knew exactly what to do... I am eternally grateful to to the course for that. Thank goodness I haven't had choking yet.

My OH signed up to do the course after the febrile convulsion and he found it great also.... although he was the only male doing it :o

Most people on it were people doing it as part of creche/ playgroup refresher requirements.

I'd highly recommend doing one - even just for your own confidence.

Back from the first aid course and have to say it was great.

Nothing too serious about it, the instructor was more like a friend telling you tips more than anything. At the start I was thinking but sure we know all this already but then he got into the choking etc and that was great just to know what to do... A lot of things have changed since i done the course years ago like giving mouth to mouth, that isnt really recommened anymore...

I would highly recommened going anywho if you get the chance
