King of Leon would be quite ambitious too, anyways I don't think they are touring.

Don't think the XX are touring at all this year haven't seen them on any festival bills anyway unless I'm looking at all the wrong ones.

Didn’t they play last year? Or was it 2 years ago?

Anyone at foals tonight. Good set not a bad crowd, defo less talking than last night at vampire weekend, but i thought his voice sounded strange and therefore didnt have its usual punch for all songs. Still have them at ep though great catalogue of tunes.

i thought it was a cracking gig, great set
lots of stuff they havent pulled out in years,
he did seem a bit croaky at the start but thought he evened out
he really belts it out, no surprise he's has some dodgy moments,
i've heard gigs where he was way off form vocally,

What was the last announcement anyway, was it the bloody Tesco one and then Trenchtown minus for the first time ever, the Revelation Soundsystem.

One of the worst gigs i was ever at was KOL in the point just before Christmas, Friday, Dec 19th, in 2008

they were painfully dull.... calebs vocals were a bit ropey... and the crowd was full of pissed up IFSC types on xmas break up... shouting at each other and acting the bollox they way those types do... annoying as fcuk !!

Really hoping for BICEP live show.
Loved them at EP 2017 for the DJ set.
Playing their album regularly since it came out. Their remix list on Spotify is excellent too.

Would love bicep too...he clashed with someone at the 2017 one for me, can’t remember for the life of me so would love him to be announced.
Paul kalbrenner too would be such a good addition.

I’d love something happens, Robyn(not gonna happen) royscopp, lauer, Lindstrom and please don’t report me boardsies.......chic :)

Kalkbrenner is playing Pukkelpop, so there might be a chance there, I've a feeling that ATN may scoop Bicep for one of the Arcadia Afterburner shows.

Low self esteem is a teen angst classic. More fun ones would be why do you get a job or Hit That. Their videos were always great too, but yeah greatest hits is all you need for them.

Tried the Offspring. Some decent tunes but not my thing. Would still check them out at EP as would likely have a great atmosphere.

Bicep is a duo. They clashed with The XX on the Friday in 2017. I took the Bicep option and am glad I did. It wasn't a DJ set, it was a live set and was mainly the album that was brand new at the time. Bloody excellent. Would be an excellent addition this year.

I was at that gig too. It was one of the first gigs of the newly refurbed Point. I definitely remember it being a messy gig as all the new bars were churning out the pints at a ridiculous rate. A far cry from the old days of the Point when you had to queue for an hour to get a drink!

I slipped on a load of spilled drink at the end of a stairs and really injured myself. Out of embarrassment I just jumped up and went to the toilet (in considerable pain!). Took years for my leg to properly heal.

KOL were touring their third album, I liked the album but not as much as the previous two, and it was before they turned into U2-lite. They just rattled through all their songs and were gone.

First festival of the year done and dusted lads.
Glastonbury really is the best of the lot.

Was only at the Pyramid for The Cure, who were utterly flawless.
Other highlights: Youth & Gaudi, Banco de Gaia, Acid Mother's Temple, The Comet Is Coming, Morcheeba, Jon Hopkins, The Chems (possibly the best I've ever seen them), Jeff Goldblum & the Mildred Schnitzel Orchestra, Roy Ayers, Kamasi Washington and Squarepusher.

Bring on New Order on Sunday.

Aphex Twin been added to the EP line-up yet?

No Collapse posters yet. Seriously though its one of the ways EP could get that eclectic electronic vitality that it was revered for back, through acts like Kraftwerk, Chems, Orbital, Basement Jaxx, Chris Cunningham, Royksopp, Massive Attack, DJ Shadow, Fever Ray, The Knife etc. What Aphex has being doing in the States with the graphics and lasers now could rival any of these acts now, they just need to take that chance.

Would be some late addition. Would he be beyond the budget at this point given the acts booked so far?

I don't see why not, remember how late the Prodigy was added, plus he can't be that expensive if Forbidden Fruit managed to scoop him twice and what's Forbidden Fruits capacity but only 10,000 people. I know he got paid stupid money by Coachella and that, but I can't imagine his fee would be any different to the acts I mentioned.

Don't get me wrong enjoyed the gig immensely but their gig in the point a few years ago and the I EP gigs had more of an energy about them which I think came from Yannis, that wasn't there last night as it felt like he was holding back at times, as you say at other times he was spot on. Was my 6th day out of 7 at gigs so maybe it was me lacking energy. Need an EP announcement pick me up.

remember how late the Prodigy was added

They were announced late, not necessarily added late.

Most bands of that size would have been tied down a year + in advance

Trailer Park just posted on Facebook.
    '

That was announced 2 weeks ago.

I can't see any tier 1 level acts being announced. From their own poster i'd be expecting tier 3 & 4 level acts, and maybe one or two tier 2 level acts.

There's plenty of quality in tier 3 / 4, so more of the same and i'll be a happy boy.
Looking at that poster, it's an impressive line up, even without the upcoming announcement.

They always announce at least 1 more tier one - at least in recent years. As a better man than me said; Keep the faith brother Rabbit

Had a look on Songkick and went through various artists that are potential for addition with being on tour around EU/Britain and have a free space the weekend of EP: Bicep, Charli XCX, Boys Noize, Kim Petras, Tame Impala, Robyn & Bloc Party.

I remember seeing them at Oxegen in 07 + 08 and thought both gigs were great , caught them in 09 when they headlined again after Sex on Fire came out and thought they were pretty terrible , no atmosphere and i think they barely spoke to the crowd or each other for the whole thing

Anyone remember the Kings of Leon gig in St. Louis in 2010? Had to be abandoned after pigeons in the rafters started ****ting on the band. Including one who shat in the bassist's mouth.

I'm not entirely sure how clever those pigeons are. Ornithology not my specialist subject. But I sincerely hope they're in some way involved in the booking department at Festival Republic.
