Any ideas when next lineup announcement will be? Or will it be similar to last year just b4 atn starts.

Still debating whether to do ATN or the picnic

    Must have heard me 😂

Some great additions there Marr and Ashcroft will be brilliant.
Otherkin are decent and Powpig are a young punk band from Limerick, haven’t seen them but I’ve heard they’re good.

    Very solid lineup now.

Could even have our own little super group with Ashcroft, Marr, McKagan and a random drummer.

new album announced today for october! Surely it has to be...

The sooner a crowdfunding solution is cracked to disrupt the promoter cartel for live music in Ireland the better. Nonsense that Wilco have skipped Ireland again.

What is that about? Setlist.fm (not necessarily 100% accurate but usually pretty close to it, I find) lists just 12 Wilco gigs in Ireland since 1996, and just 2 in this decade (Forbidden Fruit 2012 and Iveagh Gardens 2016)!!

Did someone do something to piss off Jeff Tweedy or something!?

Il have to investigate properly but nothing of interest for me there I think.

    Precisely mate!

Its a really really strange one. We get Jeff Solo as regularly as Wilco now.

Those superb back to back shows in Vicar St a long time ago now...

Could Wilco still pop up in the separate B&S Village announcement, you'll never know or are they too big to headline the B&S main stage.

No-one* could have foreseen the Johnny Marr addition!

    *everyone

And after checking out the Richard Ashcroft setlist, it's mostly old verve songs that he does live. Delighted with that, never seen bitter sweet symphony live before. Thought Johnny Marr was excellent at Glastonbury too, some great mid tier acts there. I think we can safely rule out Offspring now, they would have been in this announcement if at all!

Still this beefs up the undercard considerably and has a bit of something for everyone so happy enough with it.

I'm feeling the same looking at the new announcement but will look into some acts more during the week!

Far too big for that I'd have thought

I thought The Verve were decent at Slane back in 1998. Although I was only there for James, who were on at like 1pm. Hung about on the hill anyway. Lot of water under the umbrella since then lads. Not sure about Ashcroft's solo material but might check him out if there's nothing else on.

Really very pleased with these additions, been a while since Richie Hawtin was in Stradbally - that set in Little Big Tent was amazing (although he was late to start I think).

very good second announcement in my opinion.

Is the Eve on the announcement the rapping Eve from the 00's?

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,731 ✭✭✭Stillill42

Mildly disappointed with that. Delighted with Johnny of course but that was a given. Nobody else to make my heart flutter just yet. Ye feckers had my hopes up for Wilco.. schoolboy error, I should know better. Ah look, some great Irish stuff there that I'll be happy to see again, I'll give Gerry Cinnamon a whirl, Viagra boys sound promising and lots to do homework on. It'll be grand.

Could Hawtin along with Maceo Plex and Kolsch be for this new dance area, just wondering if it will have its own main stage.

That's a decent call actually - if they are modelling it on Glastonbury's Block9 it could feature a large outdoor area and a couple of smaller indoor rooms.

Indoor rooms? What the f*ck am I on about?!

Its a mediocre year for festival lineups this year IMO. Seems a lot of the triple A class headliners are abroad or doing solo shows.
