    Thanks a mill

Eco is pre registration only and not a huge site, not sure if booked out but youd need to suss it out now, it's a great site in a decent enough location

have you any idea where I need to go to check eco camping availability?

Just saw they do pre-pitched camping options in the Joplin camp site called "Kip 'n Go" that could be handy for keeping a place for a group.
I am just worried about the showers and trekking around after the Pink Moon experience (oh and phone chargers)

Invest in a power bar of some kind. We have one that has lasted years, used it for 4 Glastonburys and 5 EPs. Leave your phone in on airplane mode whilst you are having a kip, job done. Definitely beats queuing for a charging service, freeing up more time for seeing bands, leaping about like a mad eedjit and skulling pints.

can you recommend one? the one I have usually lasts a day a best.

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Anker-PowerCore-20100-20000mAh-Technology-Black/dp/B00VJSGT2A/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=anker&qid=1564582214&s=gateway&sr=8-1

Anker are your best bet. This doesn't deliver to Ireland but maybe does with PM or parcel wizard.

Most phone batteries have a capacity of circa 3000mah (some are 1800mah, some are 3300mah).
So a 20,000mah power bank will charge most phones 6-7 times.

I have a 20000mah power bank and it has enough for me and my wife for the weekend.

Hi Parcel Motel wont ship these batteries but AnPost Addresspal will. And you collect from your local post office. Its about the same price as PM

be optimistic and get a solar one from halfords, would recommend usb charging them first though and topping up in the sun over the weekend

yeah ive used mine for indiependence and ep, usually can fill two phones from a full charge, leave it in your car windscreen to charge or just bring it with you if youre somewhere that youll be sitting down for a while, worth the 20 quid anyway. usually find the cheaper usb charge only ones to be rubbish

How do we think they are going to announce Freetown. Like is there going to be big names there? Will Amelie lens be there instead of electric arena kinda thing?

    Friday, they’ll announce Daft Punk.

they are completely useless, i promise you!
sure the instructions even say they are more or less useless,
they dont sell them any more anyway

I got a Vinsic branded 28,000 mah off adverts before
and its excellent, if you're android it will charge up really fast
off the Samsung fast charge plug and has a fast output
so it will charge your phone as fast as your fast charge wall plug can,
ive had two, one was nicked and both were solid and trouble free
I will sort myself and my wifes phone for the weekend off it

note for newbies.....the Mah rating is not realistic on any powerbank
my 28,000 should (on paper) charge my phone about 10 times
but in reality it will do it 6 times, you lose Mah in the power conversion
or some techy thing like that, ive had friends at ep with 7-10k mah banks
thinking they will get the whole weekend out of it and it doesnt happen

Bottom line, Just buy a huge one,
you'll be glad and it will serve you well for years

    cheers

well theyre not completely useless, seeing as how i just explained how much use ive gotten out of mine, but i mean f*ck me right? they might not have them listed on the website anymore but they definitely had them in store when i was last there about a month ago

sorry, i didnt read your posts properly,
i have one and found it rubbish but glad yours worked out for you,
However, I wouldnt be arsed dropping back to the car to charge mine
and it would go walkies if left sunbathing at the tent while in the arena,

    rgds

Not that I would be made for smuggling drink into the arena, but are camping chairs searched in entry? Was able to get a few cans into Kaleidoscope this year by doing that, but searches weren't very strict there. Not sure if it's a often used technique by others!

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,413 ✭✭✭Fatfrog

I'd be surprised if they let you in with a chair.
