Really liking them too. They're playing the Grand Social in November. I reckon they'll be gaining a few fans at EP!

Heavy Lungs sounding good. Sort of getting IDLES / Fontaines DC vibes from them.

Interestingly Danny Nedelko is the singer for Heavy Lungs, the IDLES song is about him. I'm liking Fionn Regans new album, would be great to see him added to the lineup.

Do you think we'll get an announcement tomorrow or probably more like Friday.

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)

Edit: I'm sorry some scrote on the EP banter put this up, I didn't notice the date "2016"

No announcement!! Sorry for the false alarm. :(

Bodega seem like they'll put on a good show (Based off their 'Jack in Titanic' song)

Anyone ever been at the Green Man festival? Looks pretty cool, great line up. If we snag a couple from Eels, Idles, Richard Thompson, Broken Social Scene, Sharon van Etten, Car Seat Headrest, Whitney, Stereolab, Big Thief, Julia Jacklin, Aldous Harding, Stella Donnelly I'd be very happy.

Just getting round to doing my research now on the stuff I don’t know.

I’m not in the know of what all the difference categories and sub genres of “dance/electronic” music are called but if I’m right sounds like a lot of techno type DJs this year, which is cool.

Anyone recommend anything along the lines of Boyz Noise , Justice, Digitalism, Vitalic, The blaze etc ??

    Cheers

Freya Ridings is good (sounds very like Florence though)

Yonaka are deadly , seen someone mention them earlier , saw them at Rock Werchter this year, very good.

Eels are ****ing excellent live but it really depends on what they’re touring, the last gig in the Olympia was a work of utter delicate loveliness complete with E having a massive group hug in the aisles, that would not be festival friendly.

Pretty sure broken social scene have cancelled all dates too atm.
Stereolab & Mr Thompson would be class.

Touring stateside, possible given dates but unlikely unless there was a big pile of money involved.

Ameile Lens, Kolsch, Maceo Plex & personal fave DJ Seinfeld, can’t stand listening to Bob Geldof talk at the best of times but he mixes him talking into his song “U” and it’s excellent.

Not been but friends have been impressed. Always good lineups but traditionally little crossover for some reason. Unsure why given the proximity and would like to be wrong on Stereolab and SVE for starters.

We're much more likely to get more acts from End of the Road. Some from Wire, Spiritualized, Beak, The Murder Capital, Daniel Avery, Mark Mulcahy, Wand, Kokoko and Deerhunter would please me immensely. I count sixteen shared acts so far but there could be more.

Btw I just asked my pal and she's definitely not playing. She comes here a lot though so hopefully some or other fest in 2020.

Do we have a day for Johnny Marr? Can't be arsed reading all the way back.

    Please and thanks.

Eels would be great, unlikely but possible, playing Sweden on the Friday and in Germany on the Sunday.

Richie Hawtin. If you like Vitalic trust me he is right up your street. One of the best Techno Djs ever been around since the mid 90s. Google him or his other name plaskman.

A surprisingly potentially decent act for Stradbally - Duff McKagan. I can take or leave Guns'n' Roses, notwithstanding a couple of goodies. His setlists include a couple of their songs (not known to me. Dead Horse, Dust 'n' Bones anybody?) plus Bowie's Cracked Actor, a Mark Lanegan track and the Clash's Clampdown. He's also done a decent-ish and well-reviewed americana album that sounds kinda like Bowie doing country. May not be for everyone but I'll give him a look, especially as a major shortage of Americana for 2019.

And yeah, once more, can we please have Wilco?

Seeing him in Galway on Tuesday. He's also playing Kilkenny and Cork this week. UK dates on the Sat and Sunday of EP. Highly unlikely to play the Friday but long overdue a Stradbally booking.

Still my worst ever EP clash in 2010:

Roxy Music v Eels v Public Image Limited

It was tough alright, but went for the Pistols, and they were excellent.

Going to the KK gig myself, looking forward to it. Good reports from the Vicar St show.

    I'm expecting a Friday announcement,
maybe other small announcements about smaller stages but the last big announcement has been Friday the past few years.
