I like America and Golden Touch but Borrell for an hour would wear very thin. If little else on....

I’d be happy if they just played the second self titled album and a few of the first one.
They remind me of my early 20s when I was travelling n had feck all music on my iPod , I paid some lad in Bangkok to put some music on it for me and those were 2 of the albums he did

Nope. I’ll be there too depending on clashes. I have fond memories of their first two albums. But yeah Johnny Borrell is a gobsh1te alright.

Maya Jane Coles is a big addition, especially for any of the dance heads.

Hoping to go see them myself depending on clashes. Loved the first album when it came out

Golden touch, America, In the morning, Before I fall to pieces is a great time too.

They remind me of the great era when indie type stuff went mainstream. MTV2 was my favorite channel in those days.

I loved that time too, maybe next year we’ll get the likes of Maximo Park, the bravery, the rakes, futureheads etc
    Have a little indie stage.

That reminds, when did Bloc Party last play EP or have they ever ?

Played in 2006. Good reports but I missed them.

Another great year btw - The Blue Nile, Antony & the Johnsons, New Order, etc. And the Rapture, be nice to see them returning and a shame EP didn't grab them this year.

Going missing" by Maximo Park is a belter and a perfect analogy for the E.P. weekend

Myself and the regular gig buddy missed out on tickets this year due to lack of funds last year :(:(
Looking at Toutless now and hopefully might pick up 2 last min. Not too keen on regular camping though!! What are the chances of picking up 2 Eco camping registrations do you think??

Sports team cover that kind of indie band sound from back in the day, they’re not bad

    Have a little indie stage.

That reminds, when did Bloc Party last play EP or have they ever ?

Franz Ferdinand were at the middle of that too of course, and Arctic Monkeys were just starting out too. Even the slightly more cheesey ones like The Pigeon Detectives were fun too.

Hard-Fi were a guilty pleasure of mine :)

Listened to a lot of MO tonight (don’t know how to type that second letter properly)

I didn’t realise I knew so many of her songs already, some fairly catchy electro pop tunes for a little bop to

Jaysus I love this period before the festival when stage times start creeping out and you are semi-planning your weekend.

Remember seeing Hard-fi at Oxegen one year. It was a decent show. Before they started the lead singer was pissed off with the roadie because the sound wasn't right or something, singer seemed like a bit of a dick. There was a pure scobe beside us and he just kept shouting "PLAY FCUKIN HARD TO BEAT!!!" for the whole show.

    Ah Oxegen.....

The pigeon detectives, hard fi really bringing back memories tonight. Tomorrow might be an ep music free day as i go back in time

There's an EP ticket page on Facebook - maybe try there?
Lots of people selling different types of passes :)

Is it too late to make a submission to the board of management that any attempted meet up be at These Charming Men on Friday?

Always seemed the best fit for this group to me. I await minutes of the next meeting.

Anna Calvi on BBC6 now. How come we’ve never had her at EP?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,979 ✭✭✭optogirl

Is Johnny Marr definitely on Sunday? We usually leave Sunday avo because of our foolishness in procreating.
