I thought all the young people was great myself, all out to have a good time, never seen the sh1t that made Oxegen infamous and I got on with everyone charmingly even the Uggy Uggy gobsh1te of yore from the Jimi Hendrix end of the carnival was turned down in the early hours, twas a very pleasant experience. My only complaint was with Specialised Security and that was three people at the most, they are just doing their job but they don't need to be so precise with their searches. Coming into the arena from the Salty Dog they were really thorough luckily security thought my Snoop Dogg weed vaporoiser was a pen. :)

Flashback, just remembered walking straight through 2 security guards while I was actually swinging a big bag of cans on the Friday night at about 11:30, couldn’t believe I had got away with it while the others I was with were nearly pulled apart.

Sounds much worse than it is. Those weekends are actually pretty cool. Line up for the Heaven 17 one included ABC, Peter Hook, Big Country, Marc Almond, Blacmange, Blow Monkeys and others. Loads for EP.

An indie one there in January (Rockaway Beach) has Gary Numan, Echo & the Bunnymen, Barry Adamson, Goat Girl, etc.

Butlins in Minehead was where All Tomorrow's Parties were based for seventeen years, had weekends curated by Nick Cave, Sonic Youth, My Bloody Valentine, Mogwai, etc.

Any pals who've gone to these weekends have loved it. Great music and the very reasonable tickets include the price of accommodation in the chalets. The artists also stay in the same lodges so you see them out and about over the weekend.

And yeah, let's get Heaven 17 to Stradbally. Long overdue. And still sounding great.

Sounds similar to the It Takes A Village festival in trabolgin

Mount Kimbie great, King Krule is unlistenable

I wouldve said the same* until I saw some of them both live. Now Id be more interested in King Krule than Mpunt Kimbie.

*well not unlistenable, but i didnt care for his recorded material from a quick browse online

Listening to King Krule a lot since EP and he definitely walks on the wild side, a great discovery for me. An artist in the truest sense, could end in tears but you need some blood on the tracks.

After a few emails and calls TM gave me refund and applied loyalty rate. Worth hassling them if you are in similar position. The €80 saved will buy a few overpriced pints at EP19

So, after washing my hands with EP, and deciding to go with ATN next year, my missus got us loyalty tickets and pink moon for next year, as she wants to give it one last go!

I'm polishing my teenager kicking boots this evening...

How and when did she get the Loyalty Tickets - do you mean 2 weeks ago? As I never got a further reply from TM a few weeks back. So I've given up the chance of going - if the first tickets sold out that quickly then I'm not losing sleep panicking about tickets on sale beginning of next year - but can't tell you all how disappointed I am

Yep, and I just found out at the weekend.

I start taking the milk thistle in the morning, oh my poor liver..

Think some people on this thread were on the lookout for Sigrid tickets so this might be of interest:

Also seeing that The Cure are rumoured to be headlining Glastonbury, would love to see them at EP, would it be likely/possible considering they headlined in 2012?

THANK YOU!!! Although I was very mentally prepared to book a flight to Manchester just as an excuse to go somewhere... himself will be delighted

Shouldn't be posting as it's not EP related but - does anyone know what they mean by 'production tickets'? My understanding is that they're tickets that were held back from general release for staff or VIPs who might want them and that they're more expensive, can anyone confirm? Thanks as always guys :)

staff/promotions/sponsors/crew/whatever. if a band is building a stage in a stadium (eg. Croke Park) they might hold onto a few hundred to see if the seats aroudn the edges can see the stage once the final dimensions are figured out/stage is built. doesn't really apply to the likes of the Olympia too much.

they'll be the same price as normal public tickets.

Would love to see them back at EP. Were the reason I went to my first EP as a big fan and felt they were worth travelling on my own for. Have returned to EP on my own for nearly every one since.

Yeah, the Cure were what brought me to Stradbally for the first time too. They'd be a dream headliner.

Have they finished their last set yet?

Recently had a bit of a wallet blow out in a HMV in the hell hole that is Manchester's Trafford Center (yes there are some left), one of the items was the Cure's Greatest Hits on heavy double vinyl.

Would be lovely to see them there.

Only walked out of 2 gigs in almost 40 years of gig going.

The Cure at Earls Court on the Wild Mood Swings tour was one. Bored to tears.

Great singles (and some albums) band but Christ they were hard work.

Speaking of groups I’d love to see, Orbital released their new album yesterday, limited tour in near future but got to be odds on for festival season next year.

Snivilisation is one of my all time fave albums

With Ed Sheeran just announcing a new tour for next year with no Irish Date , Could we see him booked for Picnic?
