Between Reading, Lowlands and End Of The Road I get the feeling EP is going to be one of the best in years.

Is there any chance with Bastille headlining Indiependence they would swing by EP (on the same weekend)?

Could be included in the early August announcement after Indiependence has wrapped up.

    Doubtful but possible.

They arent on the same weekend. Indie is on the same weekend as ATN

I think they were getting confused with Reading/Leeds,

Or maybe they're getting confused with Indie/All together now.

    Place bets now..

I think it's fair to say we can bet our collective houses that The 1975 are one of the headliners.

TDIL Andrew Eldritch is still alive

he surely is, he's a slaphead now though (like me)

ah...memories flooding back of drawing that logo everywhere !

I'd say you're right, I would think Tame Impala have to be likely now as well.

The 1975 & Tame Impala as headliners, Basement Jaxx's as dance headliner? Charli XCX, Royal Blood & Billie Eilish would also be a great addition if we get some of Reading/Leeds Festival's acts and Giorgio Moroder doing Lowlands so that could be a possibility.

Unless Florence announces Belfast Vital in August she'll be another of our headliners.

    Yes
I got confused Indie is on the same weekend as ATN.
If only I could be in 2 places at once.
    thanks for pointing that out.

With all these fests we all get confused ;)

So you won't get Bastille at ATN to answer your question from earlier.

But still possible for EP if you are going.

Would love to see Florence back, amazing set in 2015! Also looking forward to new music going by the two new songs they have out recently, High as Hope was just ok.

Would absolutely love to see James at Stradbally, but I think EP weekend clashes with that Cool Britannia festival.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,320 ✭✭✭fourmations

    More for Forbidden Fruit.....
Earl Sweatshirt, Laurent Garnier, Peggy Gou, RY X, Julien Baker, KOJAQUE, Mahalia Music, Honey Dijon, Midland, Joy Orbison, Empress Of, Barns Courtney, I Have A Tribe

    And Beirut.

While we are fumbling our fingers wondering who is going to be announced I recommend you go onto Netflix and watch the documentary Fyre: The Greatest Party That Never Happened. Probably one of the greatest festival fcuk ups in history about spoilt American rich kids who get to see what its like to live in a refugee camp for the weekend at the price of $1,500 Dollars a ticket.

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)

Yup, well worth a watch, and I’ll never take the water for granted again...

Very good doc, all the things not to do. It was quite funny seeing all the rich kids being treated so badly.

So looking at the Townlands, R+L, and EOTR lineups. Out of them, the possible headliners for EP could be

    Headliners
    Tame Impala -
    Twenty One Pilots
    The 1975
    Post Malone
    New Order

I like Tame Impala and some New Order stuff, but the rest I dont know any of their stuff. Would they be more suited for the "younger" generation?
If we got The Strokes, I'd forgive it all.

I know headliners are not the be all and end all, but thought last years headliners added to a poor picnic overall for me.

    Others playing those festivals
    Deerhunter
    Streets
    Franz Ferdinand
    Idles
    Frank Turner
    Parquet Courts
Sleaford Mods (i dont expect them as they played last year)
    Let’s Eat Grandma
    Anderson .Paak
    Royal Blood
    Whitney

If we got the first 5 or 6 on that list, i'd be pretty happy (maybe some Big Thief and Sharon Van Ettn too...save making 2 trips to Dublin to see them!)
