Now that's what I call BS.

Yeah no doubt some DJ heard they were due to play Glasto and either got mixed up because of that or just spouted it out with no basis whatsoever.

Oh wow. That would make my entire weekend. By far my fave Lips album. Stunning in Galway last July & this would be even better. Please make it happen EP.

Edit - in Italy on 1 Sept so only the Fri or Sat of EP are possible. But surely a good chance?

The prodigy were also in Italy last year on the friday

Any idea when the 3 pre-sale is? There's usually one just before the lineup comes out right?

No I am nearly sure it is closer to the event like July/August

Is there a site anywhere that has all the line-ups for european festivals in one place? Like a big google sheet or table.

Nah, the closest you'll get is efestivals. Mainly UK and the main Euro fests.

    My predictions...

    Stormzy or Black Eyed Peas
    1975
    Kings of Leon

This might help. It's not all European festivals but most major ones are there, any ones highlighted red are ruled out of EP 2019 by having played last year or playing elsewhere in Ireland!

    That spreadsheet is great.

All of these are around within a week of the picnic.

    The Cure
    Foals
    New Order
    Johnny Marr
    The Specials
    Bloc Party
    Doves
    Basement Jaxx
    The Hives
    Ash
    Badly Drawn Boy
    The Futureheads
    Eels
    Sharon Van Etten
    Courtney Barnett
    Parquet Courts
    Cate Le Bon
    Bodega

Most of them are old acts, but i'd be delighted with them.

New Order were not that long ago which would have them out (esp given they are playing Trinity)
Cure+Doves are in Malahide too close to it so unlikely (but not completely impossible)
Ash only played last year (early slot on main stage but they're sill possible)

Of those I'd say only New Order are a slight possibility.

Foals also doing Trinity but think still a chance of them at EP given they are touring two albums this year.

Mall Grab are they not one half of the Warp group Plaid and yes yes for Aphex Twin, the one artist who has never been booked by Electric Picnic ever, the nearest we got was Squarepusher in 2012 and Autechre turned up in the first rumours for 2006 I remember. I thought he might be booked for the Picnic in 2008 even though he had played in Ireland in July at Oxegen as Bestival managed to book him so was crossing my fingers then, they also broke his cycle of playing one country per gig as i suppose it was UK and that Scotland (T in the Park) was counted as a different country. Would love the Specials, Giorgio Moroder and Wilco from that list as well.

If you want to get into it, you got to get out of it. (Hawkwind 1982)

Would love The Delines to turn up. Ex-Richmond Fontaine (who played EP a decade or so ago) and they're due to announce more Irish & Spanish dates soon. Playing Kilkenny Roots Fest and hopefully EP nab them. They've released easily my fave album of 2019.

I could see a lot of people on this list being there. Have heard 3 or 4 people say Wilco, Mitski, Courtney Barnett and Deerhunter actually.

The 1975, Tame Impala and maybe Florence and the Machine or Robyn to headline I reckon, though I feel like that is missing a heritage act. Decent sized slots for the Streets, Anderson Paak and Grace Jones too.

I find it tough to pick out the more pop elements of the bill as I just don't keep up to speed with much of that music but throw in a few of those toward the top too and it's actually not a bad bunch, even if it wouldn't be the best EP lineup I'd ever seen.

Mall Grab played last year so are probably unlikely, I would like a lot of that but I doubt many of them are even touring at the moment.

Would I be utterly naive in thinking that Wilco, Tame Impala & The Flaming Lips doing The Soft Bulletin are all highly likely? Tour dates indicate all.

If we get those then I frankly don't care if Picture This & Kodaline are each doing sixteen prominent sets over the weekend.

If we get Flaming lips doing the soft bulletin i will be immediately satisfied with the line up :D

im might even accidentally touch my head.......
