I find that people who can "100% guarantee" how they would react in a given situation generally have no personal experience of that situation.

such a strange comment. Its fairly reasonable , thankfully having never experienced a Tim Allen in my family, to know how I'd deal with it. Acting any different would have me question my moral compass.

child porn is horrible stuff...I dont believe there is redemption from that......

There was rumor doing the rounds that Tim took the fall for his son (Rachel's husband), whatever the truth is they're a ropey bunch.
Most people who learn of family members being paedophiles tend to distance themselves or completely disown the paedophile from the family. As somebody already said they obviously don't see it as a deal breaker and continue to support him.

Can we stop with the Tim took the rap for someone else now. It's nonsense, he used his own credit card to buy child abuse images end of story.

The whole thread is a train wreck and most of the posts have absolutely nothing to do with Joshua Allen. He is a greedy fool born with a silver spoon in his mouth and who has brought disgrace on his family. No moral compass and hopefully the full force of the law will fall on him. I have zero sympathy for drug dealers and have left my own kids in no doubt that will be disowned by me if they get involved in any such activity. As for begrudgery - the thread is dripping with it.

Actually He and Darina was out of the country and it wasnt his credit card and it was the college computer. This was covered in a newspaper article 15 years ago.

    Begrudgery?
This young lad as you said had a silver spoon in his mouth and should face the full force of the law. His grandfather did something demonstrably worse and people have the right to discuss and compare the two.

According to the Indo he was in Italy on holidays when Gardai raided his house. He subsequently directed Darina to a bag full of pictures he had hidden in his office. No mention of a computer.

    Heres the article.

He's been convicted. He's a paedophile. Why people think they can spin this into him being the victim is beyond gross.

Actually when they raise cooks to the level of celebrity it is one of the signs of a collapse of society.

Tbf, most of them can cook-or at least, previously they could cook (Donal Skehan and the kind of food that could give you food poisoning).

Anthony Bourdain (RIP), Julia Child, Delia Smith, Marco Pierre White, Martin Yan... it was only recently you had chefs who's 'quirks' were shaming and swearing at individuals (Gordon Ramsey). Cooking recipes so posh and expensive nobody watched it for the food (Nigella Lawson). Or charging a tenner for 'Beans on toast' (Jamie Oliver).

We've come a long way, sadly, since food was the main reason to watch a chef cook.

Can you give references to this please? Darina I am almost sure was here, Tim Allen directed her to where the printed photos were stored

To be fair Ramsey and Oliver are extremely good chefs. Just because some of the shows they have made are more for entertainment is a different issue. They also might have restaurants that are over hyped or too expensive? I've never eaten in either of theirs.

All I know is that I have become a very competent cook in the kitchen partly because of their videos online and recipes. And for getting me that confidence I personally see them in a very positive light.

Wth was the point of this post?

Begrudgery? You admit yourself you'd cut off contact with your own kids for drugs offences, have no sympathy for dealers, and you even call him a greedy fool. What? And then the 'brought disgrace on his family'..? I think you'll find that his grandpa, Tim, did that long before his actions.

The 'man'-cos he's not a kid in the eyes of the law, has doomed his future. Someone earlier said he could 'go off and get educated in America'... Not with a drugs charge that he plead guilty to. You're trouble when you have a conviction, especially when this isn't being caught with a joint for personal use. But instead almost 2kg for sales purposes.

I have Oliver's Ministry of Food cookbook and ten years on I use it every week. Every recipe works

I presume this lad is not part of the Allen cooking/catering enterprise?

If he isn't, why the publicity?

It's a shame about Ramsay-he's become more enamoured in himself than cooking. His shows on cooking were after other shows like Boiling Point, which were less 'cooking' and more business.

Now he's the guy who gets fillers, hair plugs, and 'acts' in movies like 'Love's Kitchen'. Oh, and he mocks people's appearances while being so insecure about his own.

It's a shame-I like cooks who cook. For me its the food that comes first, not the celebrity.

It's a little like if you live in a little place and the doctors or local teachers child gets caught doing something it spreads around everywhere massively and everybody likes having ago.

Well he's made a tv career off shouting at people and acting like an asshole. Think that's pretty clear to anyone who has watched even 1 episode of his shows.

But he understands food to a very high level, and breaks his recipes down that make them easy to understand and follow.

I can like the food without liking the man.

Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares Uk are excellent. 5 series from 2004-2007 worth watching unlike there US successor which is scripted and well American.

There was a guy who was on tv3 years ago, who I remember had all the ladies getting flustered, but actually could cook. He broke recipes down really, really well. Even showed simple techniques for things like dicing onions.

Nevin McGuire was pretty good too, my mom has a lot of his books. Mary Berry's another underrated cook.

Good man. Are you proud of yourself? Rachel Allen married a man whose father was subsequently caught with child pornography. That must have been terrible (and scary) for her.
And you feel all morally superior to her.
You are obviously a nasty piece of work.
Mmm, whose father was found guilty of... locals would have a different take on it.

You have never been to Ballymaloe? I have. They run a thriving hotel and spa and cooking school, they lisence the name for comercial products and they have a range of soups. They are doing very well. After the CP scandal, their corporate customers wives were back attending weekend catering classes.
The soup brand was sold to a multinational

No drug dealers without drug users, as they say.

Locals with a vested interest in Ballymaloe have been trying to spread that rumour for years. No one is buying it.
