Solve it for Britain. Would create a number of problems for Ireland. Oh and they never were Ireland's six counties.

They were pre Government of Ireland Act 1920. An act which brought about partition.

I hope Britain votes again on Brexit. It's a mess and so unpredictable on so many levels.

    The vote should have been...
    Brexit with no deal
    Brexit with a deal
    No Brexit.

I'm loving BBC Radio 3 at the moment. It's like nothing is going on in the outside world except nice concerts and Evensong twice a week. It's just PERFECT!:P

Gas though. Not content with having Irish guests on the Irish show talking about Irishisms and sure aren’t we great diddlyeye. We have to export the show and have every expat that has left the country for a wet week on and speak about Ireland like it’s the burnt sausage left in the pan.
    Why bother

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,444 ✭✭✭✭Skid X

The border isn't the real issue. People and businesses will get around that like they did before the Single Market.

The Irish/GB trade and movement is the real killer. Irish trade especially Agriculture will be royally screwed if there are any kind of delays and tarrifs in the ports.

Have a look at what you buy on a week to week basis as to where it's sourced, have a look at where stuff Irish sourced you buy has the majority of it actually sold, when you calculate it all up you will see mainland europe accounts for feck all.

A little off topic. The peace process revolves around the principle that only a majority of that entity can decide to change it's status.

Since childhood I always had a problem with Britain and her Unionist Irish cronies having the right to carve out a section of a country to accommodate a minority? Many countries have minorities but it doesn't give a larger power the right to carve it up.

And there will be, even with the best will in the world. People are completely ignoring this stuff and this is the stuff that is really going to matter to most Irish people when Brexit comes about.
