Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    ... and I don't feel so fancy.

Bought them in a dodgy newsagent's when i was down home over the weekend. Should have known something wasn't right when the staple diet of the diplomatic corps was on sale for €2 a box.

Firstly, I'd like to know whether i can sue the charlatan who sold me this shite. Secondly, I'd like to know whether i can afford do go to sleep without destroying my sheets.
Thirdly, I'd like to know whether you've also ever six-year-old ferrero rocher, ideally without having soiled yourselves during the night.

It's "best before" not "use by". One's more dangerous than the other but I think it only applies to chicken.

You'll be about half a stone lighter this time tomorrow.

Thinly veiled 'I can speak Italian thread'.

Is this "thinly veiled" thing happening again where in every thread at least one person says it. Happened around 10 years ago and drove me mad.

Would you prefer chocolate flavoured sh1t or sh1t flavoured chocolate?

    Trust your taste buds!!

6 out of a box of 24 is a quarter of a box. Not a half.

That's a really interesting question. I'd pick sh*t flavoured chocolate I think. If it was artificially flavoured. Couldn't eat actual sh*t even if it tasted like chocolate

There's enough sugar in them, you'll be grand.. you can send them back to Nestle, with a short letter to where and when you bought them (proof of purchase if you have it helps) they send a rep to the shop to check it out and you'll probably receive a voucher to cover a new box of sweeties...
Lol 6, plonker :D ! Yes I've eaten over age chocolate, it's a best before not use by.. I have survived. :D

You could be grand or you could be in trouble. It's pot luck with what's been growing in them.

Typically, chocolate has a long shelf life but not that long.

I'd definitely drink plenty of fluids as alert someone to be aware of the fact that you might have food poisoning, just in case anything happens.

You should probably alert the ambassador!

cbyrd: Nestlé have nothing to do with Farerro, thankfully!!

It's only 'best before', so I'm sure they're safe (albeit chewy and unpleasant) to eat. Tell me, was there any superficial damage to the box?

That doesn't mean something is safe indefinitely though.

This time 6 years ago Dublin only had 1 All Ireland. A lot of water passed under the bridge since those chocolates were in date.

in theory they could be ok to eat, bacteria doesn't grow in chocolate , if they were kept cool they would be ok, if they were in a shop front window getting heated and cooled for years the fat would go rancid

For a few years, a friend of mine has being trying to get me to watch YouTube videos of maggots wriggling around in Ferrero Rochers, but I've only done it now after reading this thread. While it's not impossible, I'd say it's a bit dodgy.

I'm hoping the fact they were foil wrapped means that they were protected from bugs... unless the bacteria in the chocolate have managed to evolve in to fly larvae over the past six years:eek:

I'd say it was mighty painful passing that.
But if you think that chocolate was old, how about a 50(!!) year old chicken:
