    So this is my great aunts garden, I live there now. Image 5-8 are further down the garden, I just added them to give you an idea of what the whole picture is like. 1-4 are the flat area at the top of a hill basically. I don't own the house yet so for the moment I don't want to do anything drastic even though that's what it needs. Id like to clear the top area, remove anything and everything that grows in that section, put down something like wood chippings or mulch(gathered from googling, not sure which). Then I would put some pull up bars, climbing rope etc for me and my son.

    So....

    Any suggestions as to how I could do this? Can I just kill all the weeds and cover it all in lot of whatever chips are suitable? Do I need a layer in between? I'll keep up the googling but any sound advice would be greatly appreciated.
