With Virgin Mobile - Some People Can't Call Me

Just found out today when someone tried to call me, he rang and it just said 'This Number is Unavailable'

There was no notification on my phone, even though my phone was on and taking calls fine. Taking a wild guess, is there a chance Virgin Media can't accept calls from certain networks?

I'm worried now, what if people have been calling me? I've been with virgin for more than a year now, is there a chance I've been missing calls for all that time?

    How can I fix this?

Move to a better network. Virgin are cheap for a reason.

To be honest that seems like the best idea.

    Have you any recommendations?

Have a look at the Vodafone Data user plan. Seems to be the best value around at the moment.

It's only available for new customers porting in and only available via the northern Ireland sales team in Belfast -

And how to make €40 last 3 months

As you keep your credit you can spend it on Spotify premium or extra international minutes, play store apps books etc. So depending on your usage it can be even better value.

Hi, thanks for the advice! I actually signed up just there and sims on the way!

Just, regarding those threads, they mention something slightly different from what I signed up to. The sales person told me to top up by 20 euro then text 'TEXT' to 50233... Is this the same plan?

    Thanks so much!

Good call , Virgin Mobile is run like it's someone's transition year project.

As an aside , though others have recommended Data User with Vodafone which ironically is good for low data high minutes, I would strongly recommend X Weekend if you are a data user with low minutes (100gb 4G per month). Vodafone X used to be student only but is open to all now

Do not do that, that code is for a Vodafone PAYG unlimited text bundle add on which is an absolute waste since the Data User plan has texts included anyway.

There is a calls add on but that is optional.

Don't top up either, your current SIM will lose signal, your number will port and the plan will activate within a couple of days WITHOUT topping up for the first 28 days which are effectively free.

Looks like you got signed up to one of the smart extra plans which are not as good and don't have half the amount of data. If I was you I'd call back and cancel that port if possible. Then follow the steps in the post I linked to. If they are not nothern hang up. Also I dont think the night team even work weekends. Only 9-5 Monday to Friday.

It's more than likely a routing issue. Log it with Virgin so they can tell the other networks that you're now with Virgin.

Also check your call settings to make sure you haven't blocked them by mistake. (call>settings>blocked numbers)
