Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Trouble as Evangelists buying stadiums in Peru

Out here in Lima, Peru and watching live news as clashes between Evangelist members and fans of Alianza Lima.

Evangelists have bought a percentage of Alianza Lima stadium and moved in to do some work. However a large group of Alianza fans were there to stop them from gaining entry. Luckily police moved in before it got very bad.

These Evangelists have lots of money to splash out and I believe they are buying parts of stadiums all around the country.

Their churches here in Lima are growing fast. There is 1 near my partners place. What was a one story building a few years back is now five stories high. Member's require to pay 10% of their monthly pay for membership.

I think this whole debacle is going to damage Peruvian football. Large Nike adverts are clearly seen behind instances of violence on the news. There could be a risk of them and other advertisers pulling advertising if this were to escalate.

Just when Peruvian football is getting a surge, this will hinder it.

I suppose if something is legally able to be sold there is not much the fans will be able to do to stop it eventually but surely FIFA should have some restriction on religious institutes buying football stadia?

Are the church types buying stadiums in order to essentially have big a big mass?
