Ulster Bank Debit Card Limits

Hi all,

Is there any limit on purchases made using an Ulster Bank Visa debit card?

I know there is an ATM withdrawal limit but is there a limit at the point-of-sale?

I paid 12,500 with my visa debit before so I doubt it...or at least its a very high limit

I think there is a limit of about 1500 euro on debit cards. Maybe 1200 per transaction.

I know I tried to buy something over 1500 and it wouldn't let me but others have said they have spent 2K +

That was a long time ago so best giving them a quick call sure.

AIB is 2500 daily limit don't know if it's per transaction.

I had a limit of 1200 or 1500 on mine per one transaction, Had to go to the bank and get cash. Like i said was a good while ago so probably changed.

Seems like it's not as simple as a limit as such.

From what I was told by them on the phone, you can spend whatever is your account but if it is an unusual transaction, like for a large amount, then you can expect that their security team will ring you before it is allowed to go through.

Not a straight and easy answers but there it is....

I bought a car 5 years ago from one car dealer. Paid 5k by UB visa debit card, didnt have any problems. But again it was 5years ago, theres a chance they changes their policy
