Toland misses a lot doesn’t he? Never listens to the ref either.

He's interesting to listen to, but at the same time you don't listen to an interesting podcast when you are trying to concentrate on a game.

He's the type of commentator you want the second time you are watching a game through, but he's generally too busy trying to be insightful and clever and the game often continues on without him.

He's more than capable, but he needs to save the more in depth stuff for breaks in play.

Shame on the Ospreys DISRESPECTING the league with their WEAK lineup. SAD!

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

Yeah Munster look good here. Ospreys aren't great but they are far from awful.

Ah, they're pretty poor. Their organisation up front is awful. That time Beirne ripped it from their maul on the far side was an effort a J2 team would be annoyed with. They looked like a side who had never set up a maul before.

I don't think it's gonna be a blood bath though. The BP is in the bag. They'll change the team up before long and take the foot off. Job well done and the big names looking sharp.

That’s the nail on the head though often at the breaks he misses the ref as he’s trying to say something. At the end there he said he couldn’t se ethe yc infringement when the ref explained it was Beard on the support.

Toland comparing the clear targeting of Sexton by France to a high tackle on Carbery where the arm rolled up!

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

Ok. It could be a bloodbath. Munster are just taking the ball off the Ospreys up front as they please, literally at this stage.

  • Registered Users Posts: 24,258 ✭✭✭✭Buer

Training match. POM did the important part back on his own 22. Sweetnam did nicely.

    Strong finish from Botha.

Very embarrassing for the ospreys at this early stage

The only 2 things Toland has said all night are Heavy Traffic and Joey Carberry .

I think Toland is interested in how Carbery gets on.

He's the same elsewhere in his writing at times as well. He should either be a pundit or actually commentate on the game.

Way too early to say anything on that

    Pushover try coming up.

From a Munster fan point of view this is fine to see the team playing well.
But from a league point of view it's a shame if teams get into the habit of fielding weaker away teams. We've seen the Christmas interpro series debacles where teams only field strong home teams. Top 14 had this problem for years too, home teams were winning over 80% of games at one stage a few seasons ago, not sure if that's still the case

what a bench to have Taute and Kleyn coming on at this stage of a game.

What's the view on Mike Haley? Can't say I've been that impressed from what I've seen so far. Seems like there's a mistake in him in every game.

Have they ever even seen a maul before!?

Simon Thomas on twitter complaining about commentators pronouncing welsh names. Priorities Simon.

Great stuff from Sweetnam after a dodgy pass.

    And Conway as well IMO.

Duncan Williams with the idiotic penalty before that.

Nice of Sweetnam to lighten the mood again.

Poor Keatley. Best piece of play from a first receiver tonight and Toland doesn't even mention him. Lovely break and offload.

Ryan let out a roar there. Looks bad. Calf tear?

John Ryan looks like he's done a number on his knee there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

Doesn’t look good for Ryan looked to have landed heavily on his knee.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45,433 ✭✭✭✭thomond2006

John Ryan off. That didn't look good.

How was that Ospreys ball? Ospreys defender slapped it back out of Harts hands in the tackle. Surely thats not a knock on?

NOOOOOOO ... potential try of the season denied. Fabulous from Tommy O'Donnell, absolutely relentless effort.

Ah it was weak tackling in fairness.

Pffft no clear release there at all.

Job done. Main disappointment were injuries to our tight heads.

Still plenty to work on and I’m ridiculously looking forward to when Murray gets to play with this pack and Conway.

I disagree to be honest, I thought he worked very hard to stay on his feet, took a few knocks but maintained his awareness to get the ball away. Great bit of rugby and any defence will struggle with someone who runs through lower tackles without losing balance.

I'm dreading the injury report on Monday. John Ryan did not look good going off and Archer went off for a HIA. Potentially down our two tightheads for the trip to Cardiff next Friday.

Scarlets must be wishing they could rewind the clock when it comes to Tadgh Beirne. What an addition. On a side note, great to see Donnacha O’ Callaghan mingling with the crowd.

He used do that in his playing days too when not selected, sit up in the stands with the fans

I think Botha needs to work on his rucking. He'd not shifting bodies very well, seems to lack technique. He's such a big lad, he should be blowing them out like skittles.

I love Cronin, he's as niggly as they come, but his game has really come on, no longer a penalty machine. Very useful around the park these days.
