Eir Sim only customer - Eir Sport Access

    Hi there,
    I've a few questions. I'm an eir mobile customer. I'm currently on eir Mobile Unlimited 15GB + Roaming Smartphone Super Extra 4g plan. It's a 30 day rolling contract. I'm very happy with it to be fair.

    1.) Can I access eir sports on my mobile with my current plan?

    I am looking into the new SIM only plan you're advertising 'eir mobile connect - 30 day' for €19.99 (6 months) and €29.99 thereafter.

    2.) Are the roaming terms/conditions the same with my current plan and this new plan?

    3.) I currently have the Social Bundle. Is this included in the new plan?

    4.) The new plan allows access to eir sports. Is this only available on my mobile or can I access it on my other devices (i.e. Tablet)

    Please note that I'm just an eir mobile customer and I don't have eir home broadband.

    Hi turniphead,

    As far as I am aware your current plan includes eir sport. Have you downloaded the eir sport app and registered? If not can you now do so and let me know if you then have access.

    The roaming terms and conditions would remain the same however as the new plan contains more data, you would have a higher allowance to use abroad.

    The Social bundle would not be available on this plan however you get an additional 10GB of data each month.

    eir sport would  be available on your mobile phone via the eir sport app.

    Hi Sarah,

    Thanks for the clear and quick response. It's very helpful. I've downloaded the eir sport app (red icon) but it won't let me access it. It says I'm not registered to use it. I use the same email address and password that allows me to access the my eir app (blue icon)

    Can you help explain the reason for this?

    1. Eir Sports - No, I believe Sarah above made a mistake. In Carphone Warehouse we received a brief that eir Sports is a free bonus only on Eir Mobile Connect. And it is NOT available on old 15GB plans. Worry not, if you want to get this deal then simply do a webchat tomorrow on eir website. They will switch you in 5 minutes. Did it for my girlfriend.

    2. Roaming - Yes, roaming terms change and in your favor too. While on old 15GB plan you would lose twice of this allowance in EU. Mobile Connect plan is better, you get 25GB and you keep all those 25GB while roaming too.

    3. Social - You lose this yes. It gets replaced with Eir Sports + BT Sports. I wouldn't worry if I were you. Eir added extra 10GB to make up for the lost social deal.

    4. Access - You can view the Eir sports only from the red Eir app using the same details that you login on eir's main website. Only 1 stream at the time.

    Hi Kranbo. No I didn't have access on my old plan so I switched to the new one.

    2 days later, and numerous attempts with customer service, I still don't have any access. It's frustrating.

    I'm sorry to hear that. Are you now on new 25GB Eir Complete plan? If yes, are you able to login to My Eir? In some circumstances you may have to re-register My Eir account when you make such changes to account. Happened to both me and my girlfriend.

    If you are indeed able to login to My Eir, and it looks all good there then could you let me know the name of the app you are trying to watch Eir sports on? The full name of the app as it is written on Google Play / App Store.

    I have being trying since end of july to get Eir sport app working and No luck, tried everything I was told by customer help
    online help, nothing works. This is a problem for many and still no fix.
    BTW I can log onto My Eir no problem

    Okey, if you are able to login to My Eir that's good. It means your account should be working. Just make sure on actual My Eir there are no notification like "there are no linked accounts here, please link an account" or something.

    Now please confirm that you are logging in to RED eir app, not green one.

    Sadly then only customer care should be able to fix your account. It seems you are doing everything correct. If I were you I'd webchat with them, hopefully they can do something :(

    Thanks RobiePAX. I'm in the exact same situation as lukeeman.

    I'm using the red Eir Sport app but it just does not work. I can log into the My Eir app no problem. I even changed my password but it didn't help.

    RobiePAX, I know you mentioned trying 'webchat' to resolve the situation but I can't stress enough how that is no help whatsoever. So far I have spent a total of about 4 hours on chat with a number of different people and none of them can help. They all conclude with the same synopsis...please call 1901 or 0818203040.

    I've practically begged with them to take responsibility but they won't. I'm constantly bounced around from department to department with no resolution.

    I'm another Eir mobile only customer who changed plans to get Eir Sport on my mobile and despite various calls, tweets and attempts (I can log into My Eir OK), I can't get the sports coverage using the red app.

    How can they be allowed to offer this as a benefit if clearly it doesn't work for people?

    Can't get anyone to help me :(

    This is exactly what bothers me. I only changed my plan to get Eir Sport on my mobile. We're all paying for a service that we don't have and have never had from the start. Shocking stuff.

    It's some sort of issue with the system that they need to fix. Because I from personal experience with my girlfriend's account can confirm that she didn't have access to Eir sports with old 15GB plan.

    When she upgraded to Eir Connect 25GB plan, her My Eir account wanted to be re-registered. So basically she was able to login to the account but account was claiming that there are no numbers on the account. So it asked for the number to be attached to the account. After re-linking the number she was able to login to the Red Eir Sports app.

    Unfortunately I don't know why it works for some people, but doesn't for the others. Only Eir would know answer to that :/

    An announcment on the website is what they need. Telling customers and potential customers that Eir has no access to Eir sports.

    They are still signing up new customers telling.them they will have access to eir sports, which at the moment is a blatent lie

    If you ring up after you are signed up to a 24 month contract to complain the same person who told you that you will have access to Eir sports, will now tell you that you dont and wont for the forseeable future.

    Comreg need to take this matter on immediately
