Resident on soon to be pedestrianised road

Hi, I wonder does anyone know whether I will still be able to drive my car to my house if/when the road I live on becomes pedestrianised? Do residents get a permit to use this road or how does it work? I have a meeting with my local council next week to discuss but would appreciate any info people may have.
