if we loose on Saturday or even draw and dont perform will be bad , but think we are a better team now with DCL back and having Beto to help him .

Garner has stepped up too, harrison too, apart form Gomes we have a decent eneogh squad for mid table.

Slightest bit of expectation and the cowards revert to type.

    Fed up of them.

Quality of set pieces reverted to type as well today.

If there was anything I expected from Dyche it would have been to make us solid defending set pieces and dangerous attacking them. We are muck at both

Well when multiple managers get the same outcomes from the same set of players, it's probably the players.

Lampard used to get awful stick for the defending at set pieces.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,727 ✭✭✭✭thebaz

**** pathetic - 2 good performances , and as you say revert to cowards - my old Sunday league showed more consistency and desire to win - and we paid to play - pathetic. better of not caring , cause its rinse and repeat , gets some hope and promise and a week later lose to luton, from these wasters

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 21,692 Mod ✭✭✭✭Brian?

It’s not the same set of players though. It’s a new set of players.

its the same mentatlity we've had since Moyes era - we're fragile, cowardly - and I thought at least Dyche would sort that out, apparently not .

I feal angry about today , thought we'd turned a corner, appaerently not, old frailities alive and well.

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 21,692 Mod ✭✭✭✭Brian?

I politely disagree there. Under Ancelloti we conceded the fewest goals in the league from corners. Playing zonal marking.

The problems I see is that players are unsure of their jobs. Dyche players semi zonal, packs the 6 yard box. It invites a late run. It doesn’t matter what you do in football you need to commit to it fully.

I know it’s under age football. But I play a high line and zonal marking with my team. We break quickly and press. 100% commitment to it all and we win. 99% commitment and we lose.

football is a simple game, people make complicated. You do your job and trust everyone to do the same and you win games. I don’t see Dyche convincing the players to do that. Even when Beto came on, he didn’t play with DCL. Both played like they were playing alone up front. So making subs is fine, but having a plan B is completely different. Dyche never has a plan B. Lampard didn’t either.

    I’ve had a few. Don’t mind me.

Under Ancelotti, the player budget was probably triple what it is now.

Underspending on the squad has led us here and changing the manager won't change that

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,727 ✭✭✭✭thebaz

The Anceoltti era didnt get eneogh time , ther were many bad games under him too, but yeah one of the greatest coaches and have no doubt he would have re-built us proplerly if he had stayed.

But he didnt , and we were left with half a re-build and the rest is history.

4 home losses in a row is a disgrace and thats on Dyche , and on most of the low achieving inconsistent over paid players. - we know who they are.

True as that is, Keane could defend corners when he managed Everton

Keane's confidence has been shattered for a while now. Don't think he'll ever build it back up

That second goal was a complete absence of leadership, awareness or communication. Mykolenko had no idea that there was anyone behind him. Hard to see what they are doing on the training ground.

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 21,692 Mod ✭✭✭✭Brian?

He was left marking 2 players and chose to run with the wrong one. It looked like an individual error but he was let down by the poor organisation.

He should have only been left with the player on the extreme edge of the group of runners. That means someone else was marking no one, they were marking space. Not good enough.

I'm not holding Mykolenko responsible save for not being aware of what's around him. But the organisation and communication is a collective matter.

Sorry, I didn’t mean to imply you were blaming him. I’ve seen lots of people on Reddit blame him and it annoys me.

If we don't beat Bournemouth surely Dyche is in real trouble

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,066 ✭✭✭✭eh i dunno

Yep I like him but a loss or draw today and his position has to be questioned. 7 defeats in 8 home games is unacceptable especially considering the opposition

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,490 ✭✭✭✭lawred2

Whatever little belief I had in these players was wiped out last weekend. Even given the tailwind of back to back excellent away performances they couldn't handle the weight of expectation that they should beat the worst side in the league at home.

    Mental weaklings.

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 21,692 Mod ✭✭✭✭Brian?

questioned??? He should be looking for a new job.

How many home games can we lose against **** teams before he’s gone?

This club - when I dont care , they win - when I think we can progress , they roll down against Luton - been this way since the 80s , still a 3 nil sounds good, a clean sheat and a home win - now, Ireland will let me down tonight - but, love football season.

Watched the match. Everton were brilliant.

The loss to Luton makes even less sense

Just seen the highlights , we looks such a better team with Dom leading the line, Beto will take time , but allows us to ease back DCL properly, instead of rushing him back like last year

Finally a comfortable home win. Too long coming.

FFS Young - you know what coming now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,490 ✭✭✭✭lawred2

    Terrible game. No edge whatsoever.

Young is simply out of his depth at this stage.

This has the usual 2-0 written all over it.

He looked like a man that wanted an early shower. Ridiculous challenge to put in when already booked, he had booted the ball away 3 minutes earlier which the ref warned him for so he knew he was on thin ice...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,490 ✭✭✭✭lawred2

always the same... crap officials and idiot players... we're never given nor do we give ourselves an even chance against Liverpool

why is Michael Keane still at the club?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,490 ✭✭✭✭lawred2

    There's the routine 2-0

His narcissism got in the way of the legacy he craved.

Still at least he was a blue.

    RIP

I remember ther hope I had when he came in at the millenium, if he had left when Moshiri came in , he would be remembered well, but he presided over the past few seasons of farce, when really he and us would have all been better of if he parted at the right time. its sad.

Need to start picking up points - sounds like we are going get a points penalty - dont think it will be the 12 reported, but I think maybe 3 or 6 ,

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,727 ✭✭✭✭thebaz

    decent team selected

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,942 ✭✭✭wally79

Up to -2 points and only 8 from safety

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,727 ✭✭✭✭thebaz

good win , decent team selection , DCL been managed properly , makes us a decent team, with all the off field noise Dyche doing ok , never thoght he'd grow on me.

I didn’t watch the match, had to go out. So you can all thank me for the win.

If we don't get a points deduction we'll be fine this season. Not because we are anything special but because there is some crap at the bottom this season
