We're probably safe for another year of fire fighting, Dycheball is hard to get behind , only a few years ago we arguing about Carlo losing a game or2, how we have fallen.

We win the games against those around us. Somehow we do it. It's not pretty.

Next year will be even worse than this year. Better clubs coming up and we won't have the room for anything this summer.

3 years on the deck, but somehow staggering up

in fairness, if it wasn’t for the points deduction it would have been a boring season. We wouldn’t have been in trouble at all.

With all the off field stuff, never boring at everton , since the Moyes era - painfull, but not boring, ther always seams to be something going on , now we just need a competent wealthy owner.

It's one of those things that might maaaaybe turn out to be a blessing in disguise, with a bit of luck. 777 seem pretty dodgy themselves, and with the new stadium close to finished, premier league survival looking pretty likely, and the points deductions farrago nearly concluded without the fallout being too detrimental, yee might be a more enticing prospect for a better buyer now than a few months ago, when a lot more things looked a lot less certain.

Hawked out to middle east investment funds

    Can't wait

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,198 ✭✭✭✭~Rebel~

really hope a proper buyer sees the value in it and comes in before it gets to that stage. It’s a proper historic club, with the foundations there now to push on. Hopefully the punishment looking all-but resolved without resulting in relegation will open the options up a bit.

Ther is another rumour that 777 are scrambling for extra investment to complete the deal, if its not sorted by the end of next month another season gets wasted

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,534 ✭✭✭SickBoy

Hoping our goal difference doesn't suffer another Chelsea type hammering tonight.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,727 ✭✭✭✭thebaz

I dont care about tonight, dont think we'll win, dont think we'll get relagated, and dont want City to win league. as long as we dont get smashed.

Just every now and then I get a refresher in being a blue

Delighted for DCL. Gana was immense. As was Harrison.

Back four just kept going and going. Branthwaite is a once in a lifetime player.

    Dyche into the history books.

Resolved not to watch this derby.

I suppose we were due a win at home.

When I dont care, they win , when I care they lose, which is most of the time . The big thing for me tonight is we are safe - this season, as last, has been beyond dire , on and off the field - if we get the ownership sorted , we can start making steps beyond just survival. Tonight is the effort we should expect every game, but loved Doms header.

That win last night and the emotion at Goodison and nearly guaranteed Premiership survival, might have a positive effect in our quest for more funding , due some luck off field.

There's something slightly mystical about Everton where relegation is concerned. No matter what's thrown at us over the years the club has found a way to pull itself through and out of the mire.

Seriously, the club was deducted 8 points when already in a heap and has still managed to not be relegated.

Everton -8 would surely have been odds on for relegation at the start of the season.

Looks like Moyes will be available in the summer. I for one would love to have him back. He was our best manager by far in the last 40 years.

(Carlo was a dream. I still don't believe it really happened.)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,489 ✭✭✭✭lawred2

I loved Moyes. Prob the best mid table prem manager there is. But I don't want to see him at Everton again.

Can't really explain why. Probably a mix of illogical and irrational reasons.

I’m torn. I loved him when he was here, but can he really repeat the trick?

Very rarely works out , when someone comes back - given our financial position and what he has been dealt I can not see Dyche been sacked - not a fan of Dycheball, but he has been dealt a rotten hand, and done what was asked - seams a decent guy - so I wouldnt be fan of Moyes going back, and honestly his football aint great, thats why West Ham fans want him out.

    Safe with games to spare

    Very everton-unlike

Been some season of field drama - but well done Sean on keeping us up, was not a fan of his football, but has done well given the cards he was dealt - now lets sell the club , and dream a little higher

We will probably go into administration and get another 9 point deduction

Have a few beers tonight lads and enjoy the feeling of being safe in April.

Couldnt even get a week of tranquility , according to Guardian we are on life support again, 777 plugging a 15 million need for day to day costs, I assume covers some of the over-inflated wages , it sounds like its 777 or bust - always drama.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,687 ✭✭✭beggars_bush

Does this all come back to the stadium not being funded separately?

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 21,692 Mod ✭✭✭✭Brian?

Gueye has morphed slowly into Pirlo. Where was this for the first 30 games.

Can’t understand how that Luton goal was given. Young should’ve been stronger but was clearly pulled back

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 21,692 Mod ✭✭✭✭Brian?

it wasn’t a “clear and obvious” error. The ref saw it and dismissed it.

Don't think that Beto claim for a pen was as easily dismissed as they seemed to make out - had the defender beaten, and gets blocked off from getting round to the ball… sure there's a bit of physicality both ways, but only really because the defender is blocking him off without challenging for the ball.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,489 ✭✭✭✭lawred2

Thought it was fair enough to be honest. Young was pathetic

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,489 ✭✭✭✭lawred2

Chermiti would want to smarten up. Those cheap fouls are Sunday league stuff

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 21,692 Mod ✭✭✭✭Brian?

his touch is brilliant though. He has great feet. There’s a lot of work to be done with him, but I think there’s a player in there.

The fouls are just exuberance. Just needs coaching
