    Embarrassing from McManus.

Tierney had a similar one in the first half. There should be a citing allowed after games to cut out that crap.

Awful collapse there in the last few minutes. 5 points up on 77 minutes and cruising most of the 2nd half. Missed two great goal chances. Tierney hit the bar as well.

Not sure how they managed to throw that away given how comfortable they looked.

    Joyce is clueless

7 points in that half and they had 14 for twenty mins of it.

Just a poorly organised and coached team, as evidenced by the litter of bad wides in every game.

Never would have thought PJ would work out worse than KW but it's very likely as he has far more talent available now than KW did.

Pure nonsense statement that hardly deserves a reply

The players should be able to see that out. And Conroy shouldn't be getting himself a completely needless black card. Can't blame Joyce for that.

Conroys absence was the difference in the last 10 minutes

Exactly. You can't blame Joyce for all those wides and umpteen misses inside the box. That's down to the players.

Not at fault for the collapse but hes a poor manager. I see nothing that sets what this team is doing apart from the previous set up. At least there was some consistency there. The team is changing every day, there's no sign of us playing to our strengths and they're slow to react to changes in the game.

Is that power walking with the big brace on his leg?

Sure Heaney missed an open goal as well. Shane Walsh has had a poor game. The players should have wrapped it up. Can’t blame those things on PJ.

And weirdly they had Walsh in the 3 contenders for MOTM when he was nowhere near even average today.

Agree, for me molloy should be well ahead of walsh today.

Who did Shane come back on for?

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,787 ✭✭✭Fann Linn

    Gone fierce scrappy.

Didn't see but I doubt it. Wasn't he named on the bench??

Is Barrett any good? Never been impressed by him

Usually a fan of Gough but he's had a very poor game. And that's for both sides.

    No consistency today

Brutal, as are the lines men.

Sorry to say but Shane has been utterly selfish today in his play. Must have dropped about 4 or 5 balls short into the keeper. Along with a few wides. Has barely passed the ball.

I could be wrong so, I'll have to watch that last play again.... Edit I was wrong

Complete joke of a turnover to end the league.

We wont be winning any AI with this set up so a quick Connacht is the best way to just get past any notion of a 3rd year with PJ.

That Monaghan team are at a lower ebb than when they beat us in the Super 8s and that team couldn't get near an AI(fair play though as it's a tiny county so they over achieved even to that point).

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,339 ✭✭✭✭Utopia Parkway

Ridiculous to lose that game really. 5 points up on 77 minutes. Missed two great goal chances in the 2nd half. Heaney missed an open goal. Tierney’s shot off the crossbar.

Who was the Galway player who threw that terrible hand pass that gave Monaghan the winning point?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,208 ✭✭✭SqueakyKneecap

This management team sticking around for championship is the worst thing about this defeat. They won't have the dignity to walk.

When our leaders were all under 22 we were in big trouble. Shane Walsh has had many great days but his selfishness in extra time was the losing of the game. Conroy was brainless to even let it get to extra time.

Monaghan showed real heart and in all honesty Galway footballer hasn't had that at senior level since 2001.

    Possibly Tommo.

    Possibly Tommo.

Looked like they had a 5 on their back anyway. Jaysus they did the hard part in getting the ball back and then they hand pass it straight back to them.
