Jesus it would be so much handier for me anyway if they moved it to the RDS.

Would they have been able to fit their stage production into the RDS tho?

There's no way their current stage could have fitted in the RDS, its a behemoth of a structure.
If the weather holds, this should be a great day, especially if its not near sold!

Why do you think it wouldnt fit in the RDS ?
Its a larger pitch area than the venues they are playing in the UK.

is it? stands always seem quite pitch tight in the RDS?

I don't think the band had any interest in moving it anyway

    MCD always go cheap

Just curious as to who you would add? The rock am ring festival really hamstrung MCD.

You'd probably have to go back to 2003 and 2009 to get a line up of a few "A list" acts, that being said I'm perfectly happy to spend 100 quid to see Metallica and ghost how are amazing, bokassa and SLF have a few jams between em, fangclub have not listened to em yet.

Also have people not seen the stage and set up they have? It's insane, I paid 50-60 quid to see qotsa in Dublin and all they had was some orange poles sprouted across the stage.

Do Aiken not control the RDS? Or what's the reason for Metallica always being Aiken before now?

No its shown to be open to either for instance Paul Simon was in there for Aiken last year, Foos/Pink MCD there this year. Slane is always ran by MCD I think.

Is the snake pit just for the ‘Dream No More’ Experience and meet and greet winners? Seems like it holds a lot more people that what's covered by that.

Where do you get dropped off and how far is it from the venue?

God why is Lars such a gob****e with his list and move the gig too the RDS

Would of been way easier too get to and from

Is what it is. MCD really should of sorted out the full lineup before the gig announcement maybe than we would of got A list support.

I meant in Slane. Customs House is where they pick you up before the gig and drop you off afterwards.

I'd be curious to know how many tickets they've shifted for this, I think it'll come close to selling out I know a bunch of people who have tickets and aren't really metal heads. A good weather forecast the week before would help.

couldn't tell you the exact location but it was just before the big bridge in Slane.
Took around 30 mins to walk to the site

If i remember correctly they just drop you off in that area just before you walk up the hill near the entrance to the castle?
