anyone know where you'd pick up some hiking boots around Dublin? Much better than wellies and looks like they'll be needed.

I bought a pair of Trespass Thorburn boots yesterday for Slane.

They're a few doors up from the Gaiety.

I got emails for entering both of the contests but only a losing email for the meet and greet, that the same for everyone?

Just picked up a couple of good quality ponchos so that'll do me if it starts raining on the day.

Where's the best place to get ponchos? Will there be some on sale on Saturday at the gig?

As if MCD will give two fcuks. The tickets sales for this have been appalling. They could easily move this to the RDS and still not fill it. They have to do something to fill in the gaps.

    Ahhhh I was expecting yaa!!

Still full of hate for Slane ……..

Hmmm not too sure, but they are generally fairly big. I wouldn't bank on getting one like that at the venue though!

    Hoping for No Leaf Clover

I've been a fan since 88 and up to then the gap between Metallica and slayer was slim enough, they were comparable to a band the size of mastadon nowadays. I was getting to the stage where I'd take or leave them I've seen them so often but this gig is seriously special, from the extreme fringes to the biggest platform we have. It's going to be ****ing Savage.

You could get a train to drogheda and the bus from there, that’s what we did for GNR and will do again for Metallica

Yeah, did the same and they allowed drinking on the Bus Eireann coach I was on anyway.

Here's a pub in Slane advertising that their beer garden will be open.

    That barrier isn’t usually there

  • Registered Users Posts: 10,423 ✭✭✭✭Outlaw Pete

At GnR it was an absolute nightmare to get to the Gold Circle. Took about half an hour from the top of the hill as you basically had to walk through the crowd. Hope they make it easier this time. Preferably I'd like a red carpet section going down the centre of the hill which only Gold Circle ticket holders can stand upon and perhaps have a few snipers on top of the castle in case any peasants with Zone tickets try to use it.

Nope, at GnR was nothing there. Was standing around there for it.
