    yes, towed up to 160mph, by the looks of it, and then pedals to 184mph.

    the fastest i've ever driven was 110mph, and that was scary in a 1.6l escort. doing 184mph on a bike, inches from the back of a car takes some amount of moxie (i was going to say cojones, but see above).

    Why do they refer to it as a 'land speed' record?

    Are some cyclists doing similar in water or in the air?

    doesn't bear thinking about her hitting the car or falling off at that speed does it. What "road bike" equivalent gear would she be turning there at that speed? Must a couple of hundred x 11

    wheel size to one side, the standard max ratio you might see on a road bike is 53x11. say 5 to one. the bike above is running what could be a 70 tooth to 11 (squared), or say (6 to 1)x(6 to 1), so 36 to one. the equivalent of maybe a 400 tooth chainring to an 11 tooth rear cog.
