Bit of a shock finding out about Jacqueline Pierce's death through a random YouTube comment.

Jacqueline Pierce played the character Servalan, on the science fiction show, Blake's 7.

She passed away after a brief illness (diagnosed with lung cancer in August), early September 2018, at her home in the UK.

Servalan was just one character in her long acting career, thankfully, most of the papers have acknowledged that..

There seemed to be far more coverage for the passing of actor Gareth Thomas, Jacqueline Pierce's death went unnoticed for me, anyway.

People today tend to mock the tinfoil/cardboard walls of Blake's 7, but it was the sheer volume of thespian experience (decades) in the acting crew, that pushed past the dodgy effects.

I've only just started rewatching Blakes 7. Brian Blessed is in episode 3 of season 1. No scenery was safe when Brian was around. The theme music still sounds as good as it ever did.
