    Hi all.
Some Friends of mine received a letter in July stating that from the 5th of August they would get a letter from the Council with some houses to view or something to that effect.

Anyway, nothing has been received yet and they are wondering if that letter takes time to arrive or should they contact the council back.

    Cheers.

I am sure the letter has a phone number on it that they can ring and ask?

Hence why i asked should they ring back or would they be just taking up someones time doing so.
Please read the post or input something useful.
    Thanks.

How much time do you think they would be taking up exactly? Sounds like a 2 minute phonecall. And you haven't even said what council it is. How do you think anyone is going to be able to help you? They all have different processes.

I am with Teyla here. Just give them a call, you are going 20 different opinions here from people that have dealt with different councils throughout the country.

Your friends should call the number on the letter. Nobody on boards can answer this question.

    Mods. Please close this thread.
It seems I posted in the toffee nose section and won’t get the answer I’m looking for.

Why ask the question if you already know what answer you’re looking for?

Just go and do whatever you’re waiting to be told to do.

Did you shove the letter up your arse or sometime, with an attitude like that??

Lol. It's almost as if you forced someone to open the thread. And it's almost as if this is a forum for asking questions?

    Hi OP,

Lots of people are reluctant to ring 'officialdom' for fear of upsetting someone, and then being worried that their application will be negatively affected. I think that nowadays that kind of thing is less likely. Tell your friends to ring up and say they haven't received a letter yet. Most likely they'll get someone polite, who will let them know where they stand. After all , the letter could go astray in the post.

Hopefully they'll get some good news.

Yes and when i asked the question, i was given a stupid answer to call someone.
Do you not think they i have thought of that.
The point of an open forum is get answers from people in similar positions.
Not to be given a generic answer that could be used for 80% of the questions on Boards.

I have useful information in relation to your op, but you’re not getting it now.*

    * Not a tongue in cheek answer. I actually do, but your attitude stinks.

If your friend rings with the same attitude as you they will fall off the housing list id say.

what are you talking about? you were provided a "stupid answer to call someone"!! if you read your opening statement you actually asked for advice on whether your friend should wait a while longer or make contact with the council and people advised on the latter. what more do you expect????

If you have nothing useful to add, don’t post.

I used to work for a town council, scumbags spongers they’d come in and throw chairs, verbally abuse or assault staff. No they don’t get kicked off! They just get escorted off property or hung up on.

Not implying the OP is like that btw but you’d be surprised what people actually get away with.

    Direct request to close thread

OP, you asked a question, and got answers. By your own posts, it’s an open forum so you may not like the answers given.

On another note, you have a letter from the council. There’s a number attached to that letter. Nobody here know what your talking in particular as you didn’t spell that out in the OP. General questions get general answers and nothing so far ha seven out of line with that.
