Today I made ham & cabbage, carrots, small roast potatoes with salt & pepper & dried herbs, gravy & Yorkshire pudding.

It was UNBELIEVABLE. Not a single complaint I had about any part of it. & I was thinking it wouldn't turn out as I wanted because I was busy while I was cooking too & that always ends up with something going wrong.

One of the kids said to me that it was probably the best dinner I've ever cooked. But bless him, its actually his favourite dinner & I think he says that to me every time I make it :D
But it was really good today I'll admit

I actually don't enjoy cooking. I'm not half bad at it, & I love food, but I don't like cooking. Or dishes!

Well this time he was very kind to me. Coddle made my way is another favourite of his. He HATES spaghetti bolognese & I love it, but don't bother making it any more because he refuses to eat it & I'm not making separate meals!

Normally don't eat in the middle of the day but was working outside in the filthy weather and was called into this fresh bread sambo and mug of Bovril.

Back out again now to finish fencing in the new turkeys.

Had a few different flavoured sausages with mash, gravy and peas tonight. Had a glass of red wine too and will be having more.

I remember being in London about 25 years ago and asking my buddy what was banger's and mash as it was advertised in the window of a café, when he told me it was sausages I said to him "Are ya serious? Jesus Christ imagine if you got served that for your dinner at home, there'd be murder. They must be all paupers living around here."

Happy days, lets hope we bate the paupers in Wembley tonight.

Sounds like the 'top deck' bar years ago, that was layers of each though so not sure if it's the same.

Enjoying a beer and gearing up for the expected from Wembley, but who knows? Dinner for the girls tonight was great meatballs, mash, peas and gravy. Clean plates so that's good.

I've gone for a no BS dish with zero frills. Just a striploin steak with potato gratin. Simple, tasty and mine.:D

Picked up some fresh loafs today in SuperValu and then spotted a chilli beef with wedges family dinner that was half price. Took the reins for a surprise dinner and there was an amalgamation of food served up that pleased all. A little bit of red wine was also involved.

Fresh crusty bread is one of life's great pleasures.

There's ham in that crusty bread too! I'm still suppin at the table inn. Only me for dinner as Mrs G had the last of yesterdays chicken curry with rice and chips. Ms G had a roasted part boned chicken breast and chips. She hates the skin, but adores the taste of the chicken cooked with the skin on. Don't blame her. I shall view the menu later to see what I want.

Love how you felt the need to put (pizza) in brackets :)

A friend of mine called today and said there was a present for me in the foyer. Went down and there was a bouquet of flowers and huge box of leonidas chocolates which I'm demolishing!
