I minced garlic with butter and smothered a fillet steak with it. Had it with baked potato. Delicious but I'm still hungry even though it was huge. After each mouthful I kept thinking....mmm yum but what will I rustle up after:)

Its like my student days tonight. Scoopin a beer or three and then having the left over takeaway from last night. Fortunately I have things like a fridge, a microwave and clingfilm. In 1990 it was left at room temp overnight and all day only to be reheated in a pot on the cooker.

I had four of the Denny meat free sausages and they were only ok. I found it hard to know when they were cooked enough and no sizzle from them. I guess that would be the fat in the meat usually.

Venison chilli con carne with baked potato wedges and a lash of cheese on top. Cold can of Molson to wash it down.

Smelt baking a while ago and thought there was a surprise cake on the way but it was homemade sausage rolls that were meant for later or possibly tomorrow but myself and the youngfella didn't even give them a chance to cool down, they were demolished while she was on the phone to her sister.

I bought more Toblerones so I could have one for myself and it was really nice. There is no palm oil in it, I checked the ingredients.

Just had a ham, eggs salad sandwich from the shop. Trying to cut down a bit lately. Those sausages wouldn't fill you at all.

A first McDonald's for the girls in nearly a year earlier. I grabbed a nice dish from a local Chinese. A few beers and feeling no guilt. A rare trip about the place today. It's not often. Butchers tomorrow for a nice cut of beef for Sunday!

Mrs/Ms G had southern fried chicken goujons with some creamy mashed spuds and corn on the cob. I bought the new Bisto southern style chicken gravy granules and it was a hit with them splashed over the goujons.

I'm now sipping a bottle of Peroni with a seasoned fillet steak sitting out at room temperature. I got a double pack in Supervalu today and the other one is gone into the freezer. They'll do. Some mash left over so that may be the starting point to what else I'll have with it.

We used to have that at home the odd time about 40-45 years ago, what a treat it was. We called it a dip egg in our house, I got a flashback and tried to do a few there about a month ago as part of the Sunday morning breakfast but I made a balls of them. There's nothing like the mother's cooking.

I took the reins this evening after bargain hunting in Lidl, I got loaded wedges with cheese, ham and jalapenos and some thinly sliced peppered steaks all 30% off. Didn't even serve it on plates to give the authentic takeaway feeling and save on the ware.

Shagging thing attacked the taste buds from all angles, bottle of red wine to cool it down and all happy campers. 2 euro a head for the grub and the same for the wine, might have to throw caution to the wind and open another 4 euro bottle of wine.

    Costly night in the mountains.

The nutritional value on a Chicken Kiev is unbelievable, they should probably have an age limit on them with fat content like that.
Just finished two of them watching the RTE news

Homemade burger tonight on a brioche bun. Added jalapeños, Lettuce and thinly sliced onions as garnish on it. It was so good I made 2 of them and a plate of chips. Also had a sneaky port chop on the George foreman to tide me over while I coked the meal with mild mustard
Sometimes I love my gluttony ways, but I'll have a 8km walk tomorrow as a form of penance.

But before then I will have a glass of Jameson porter barrel limited edition

I walked/jogged two miles 6 days a week. I limited myself to 1500 calories a day max while still enjoying healthy food and a few beers. I avoided fried food and chocolate and dairy.

Rows G, I got those wedges a few times, I liked them. Whatever you do though, don't chance the same range curry chips, they aren't great.

I had spice burgers with hot sauce again.

Roast "you'll never guess what" with all the trimmings and about 45 glasses of wine.

I had a bag of crips then and an ol' bag a peanuts.

Well I can say that the Aldi Curry Chips are crap and their Chip Shop Chicken Curry too. Absolute mank. Add to that their Spice Box. All pure muck.:(

Anyway today we had the following for dinner. A slab of roast beef, Roasted carrot and parsnip in honey and mustard glaze, garden peas and roast spuds.A drop of gravy was available too. Real food. Homemade and from the heart. Local spuds and local beef. The veg was from Supervalu. Mrs G said the carrot and parsnip were too crunchy but she was rared on veg with the bollox boiled out of it.:D
