Russia, back in Kyvat country where the Russian torpedo is not missed by Vettel as he needs to win to stay in the chase, and hope for someone else to torpedo Hamilton.

Qualifying highlights 16.30 on Channel 4
    Race highlights at 18.45.

    Race Winner
    Lewis Hamilton 11/10
    Sebastian Vettel 5/4

    On Pole

    Lewis Hamilton 8/11
    Sebastian Vettel 6/4

2 horse race all round with the bookies. Pretty much everyone else is 9/1 or 10/1 minimum.

I wonder will that effect Sky F1's viewership numbers much?

There were rumours that Sky was not happy with Crofty and was to be replaced but Sky then shut it down themselves by confirming his role.

It's the narrowest time difference between teammates on the entire board

Those Mercedes times were set on the Soft while the Ferrari and Red Bull was on the Hyper. That's pretty ominous looking.

I’ve been wrong so so many times based on free practice “results”. It’s all meaningless at the top. The final times of FP3 might be somewhat indicative, but on the whole, the top teams keep their cards very close to their chest until Saturday afternoon.

Well we know Verstappen, Ricciardo, Gasly, Hartley and Alonso will be 20-16 most likely thanks to Engine Penalties.

Maybe Hamilton will decide to let either Bottas or Vettel win this race just so he does not have to see and shake evil Putin's hand again. In fact maybe he will decide 4th place is a good place to finish but probably highly unlikely.

I'm going to predict a Bottas win... Strong track for him. But might need Lewis to have a dnf for that to happen

    Lewis on pole maybe

Cars running slowly on out laps caused a few issues in P3, dangerous at times, so might be some problems in Qualifying

Will definitely need a dnf from Hamilton for this to happen due to team orders even if he is quicker (which I doubt).

I hate this track, even qualifying is boring. What's the point of them doing second laps in Q2 when there are 5 cars who didn't even set one lap time

    Great qualifying from Bottas!

Hamilton gets a better start and in front before turn 1, nobody able to overtake, race over.

Bottas to finish 15-20s behind Hamilton.

Mercedes don't always do team orders so could work for Bottas

  • Registered Users Posts: 487 ✭✭BikeRacer

Very uncharacteristic mistake there from Lewis in sector 2, 3 tenths up on Bottas after sector 1 so he was on for a sub 1:31 only for that.

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,724 ✭✭✭✭skipper_G

I don't agree, Mercedes like to talk about how they don't do team orders a lot but they've done it more than anyone else this season. They're full of hot air, just like with all the poor Ocon garbage Toto's been spouting

I just did a little tidy up. Interesting and should at least give us something to watch as I'd expect the top 4 will be a bit of a bore.

Formula 2 race was good as the tyres made such a difference. But why did sky delay the broadcast to show a pre F1 show rerun instead of the live race.

Vettel getting a tow off Bottas and Kimi off Lewis

First corner collision on the cards

Poor form, maybe they were hoping that Lewis was on pole. Instead we got a rollercoaster wth Johnny.

Yeah, F2 race was great. Shame Markelov didn't go longer on his stint, and a shame he had a mare of a pitstop.

l done to Bottas on his great qualifying today. Ferrari just did seem to be there today. Hopefully they will be better in the race tomorrow and maybe Kimi or Vettel can get a win although I do not mind if Bottas wins either. Could a good or a boring race.

Croft yesterday was ridiculous, he was screaming his head off with excitement at the end of Q2. While the 5 cars to be eliminated sat in the garage not even setting a lap time.

One more change as Vandoorne is 15th on the grid now as he has changed his gearbox. Stroll moves up to 14th on the grid as a result.

Per this BBC graphic Hartley has also moved behind the Red Bulls. Verstappen's extra penalty over Ricciardo was for ignoring the yellow flag Sirotkin caused. I dont know where Hartley has got the extra penalties from.
