Hunters were based opposite the cathedral on the lane that now goes down to nuig buildings , not the lane to fisheries field. It was in the forerunner of the two storey building about 500 yards down that lane. As far as I know it was known as hunters buildings into the 70's but open to correction on that. Think you might be a bit early with 1920 but not sure. There was a series of books published in the 80's by Maurice Semple which gave a history by the areas of the town and the businesses in each area. Might be worth a look.

If it's the company that westgolf is thinking of I thought they were more an iron/metalworks. But the pram is probably steel framed so it's possible they used to do manufacturing originally.

Are you mixing it up with the IMI (Irish Metal Industries) which was based in the NUIG buildings which now houses the O'Donoghue Theatre

Don't think so. As far as I remember Hunters were metal as well.

They definitely sold prams. Big Top entrance if I remember correctly.
Not sure if run by them, but there was bike hire run from same place after.

Yep, there was a bike hire crowd in that building for a while, also was a furniture shop, long narrow spot, on the left hand side of the lane. Twas there late 70's early 80's, probably hunters property also. Furniture building was knocked to widen laneway.
