My girlfriend and I are currently living in a house owned by her parents. Last night while attempting to register for htb we discovered that she is the registered property owner of the house we are in. The lpt is in her name however she has never taken out a mortgage or bought a house. She reckons her father got her to sign something connected to lpt a few years ago, before we even lived in the house. We are fairly sure the deed isn't in her name.

How will this affect our application? Will she be seen as a second time buyer and therefore ineligible in the revenues eyes?

    Thanks.

It won’t. Same thing happened to me last week, my name was down for my parents house when LPT was first introduced. No idea how it happened and it was corrected straight away after my dad made me call them. But when I was applying for HTB last week the same thing happened saying I was already registered for LPT and not eligible. So Get her to call revenue. Tell them that the house belongs to her parents and they will take her name off it.

Thanks. I'll get her to ring them in the morning and hopefully we'll get sorted.
