We are 2 couples in early thirties planning a trip to NYC for New year's. Time square does not appeal to us at all. We were actually thinking of heading to Williamsburg and enjoying the fireworks in a bar from that side of the river. Would appreciate any bar or restaurant recommendations? Definitely open to options ? The more ideas the better

Were you there? What was the atmosphere like?
Like the look of berry park in Williamsburg? Roof top with city views

Located 215 Chrystie Street, New York, NY 10002. Viewed fireworks. Guest of another. They picked up tab. Probably better choices, unless you're very rich and have money to burn. I couldn't afford it. On student budget.

Roof tops are definitely an option and the views are "awesome". However there will be big crowds and "lines" will be long as your tab will be.

One option would be to go to Long Island City across the east river. Find the iconic Pepsi Cola sign and watch the fireworks from around there.

I did New Years a few years ago and went on a dinner cruise. Had a nice meal followed by dancing and then ended up at the statue of liberty at midnight, it was really good.
