It was a poor strategy call, but I think Di Resta is spot on when he says they had the best conditions before the rain came down. Vettel can have no excuses.

Also, I think Mercedes sold Ferrari a wonderful dummy because Hamilton and Bottas initially had inters on but then they changed after the Ferrari’s were waiting at the end of the pit lane.

Lot on twitter making the same joke after Leclerc was annoyed by Sauber making a bad call. Wonder how he feels seeing Ferrari's decision making :pac:

Your not the only one. Be delighted if Max can get ahead of both of them. Even if Lewis does eventually win at least some of the race would be exciting.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

Yeah he was saying Ferrari had a 90+ second advantage over Merc (as in Ferrari got out 90 seconds ahead of Merc), but Vettel spinning means he binned what should/could have been a front row lap

    Ah now Fernando ...just stop

    Vettel's up to 8th!

Ocon gets 3 place penalty so vacates 8th to move to 11th. Vettel moves to 8, Perez to 9th and Leclerc up to 10th.

So effectively 7th with Kimi factored in. I expect Seb will carve through the slower cars in front quite quickly. Mercedes still don’t have much room for error tomorrow.

    Is this 2001 or 2018?

Last time I checked he’s driving a McLaren, not a Minardi.

And again, Verstappen proves the theory magnificently - not long after it looks like he's finally matured, he does something worthy of a child on Forza Motorsport.

About time they did something about the waving around on the straights, again what Magnussen did is a videogame move. Younger drivers don't have any sense in these regards, it's a matter of time until there's a major shunt.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,498 ✭✭✭Harika

Ffs now the restart is delayed so magnussen can overtake to be overtaken in some laps again.

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,648 ✭✭✭✭skipper_G

KMag needs a penalty as well, he's always weaving around like that.

Max basically saying Kimi should have stopped to let him back on the track. He's a super talented driver but a bit of a twat

Well whatever slim chance Vettel had of winning the WDC is gone now anyway. It was a stupid move by Vettel. Meanwhile the two Mercs are gone driving of into the sunset way ahead of everyone else.

With the amount of 5 second time penalties handed out you might think Oprah is a Stewart today

There's a potential safety car in this midfield scrap

Kimi would have had to parked up for a bit for Seb to have gotten anywhere near him. Winnow indeed...

So did Max take his 5 second penalty or is that applied after the race? Could Ricciardo have been 3rd on the podium? Am a few minutes behind watching the race.

If Ferrari have shown us anything this weekend, it's that they can't plan a few minutes ahead - never mind a few laps :pac:

It would have made for some interesting team radio exchanges with Kimi!

I'm not sure really, nobody standing out too much, from where he started I think Ricciardo probably did have as good a race as anybody

Pity about the result for the championship but Hamilton had comfortable enough race

Good to see toto showing off his glasses to channel4

Interesting enough race to watch, not at the front but plenty going on.

I think Vettel made the right decision to try get max when he did just a poor execution of the over take. He knew the Red Bulls are horrible o follow. Every team knows that at this stage. Didn't work out but he had to try.

Still made for lots of overtaking. He came from outside the points twice in one race and finished higher than he started.

Well done to Lewis it's his title.

I see Vettel has blamed Verstappen for the crash.

Jees just take some responsibility for once

Not defending anyone in this. But!

    A few weeks ago ( I think Singapore ?)
Where Max made a half attempt to overtake Hamilton while going through the back markers.

    Max's words after were
" I think I could have passed Lewis, but that would have been unfair"

Why would it be unfair Max??

    Then yesterday
    Max's words.

" Is there still a battle?"
Come on Max, Get a life and change that arrogant attitude.

    Then today.
Max is nowhere near competing in the title fight and what did he do?

Push Kimi off the track and had the cheek to blame Kimi for it :pac::pac:
Then he cut Vettel off and put him to the back of the grid.
I remember watching races when drivers had and showed respect for the title fighters and would absolutely not get in their way.
What is wrong with this dope?

When does Bottas contract run out and who will replace him??
Hmm, I wonder have Merc been in talk with Max about a future with them.

What other reason would he have for showing total disrespect for Ferrari.

    As I said,
I am not defending anyone, but anyone with a half a brain would have let Vettel through today.
