Maybe Mando is force sensitive and that's why he's protective of the Child. Or maybe the Child is using the force to make Mando be his protector, if we want to go down the darker route

A belief in gender identity involves a level of faith as there is nothing tangible to prove its existence which, as something divorced from the physical body, is similar to the idea of a soul. - Colette Colfer

What keeps them in place in space keeps them in place in the atmosphere I assume.

Well in space you add artificial gravity by spinning etc, when you are in an atmosphere you are fighting an existing gravity.

But they probably just did it with midichlorians :)

It's midichlorians; at first, I typed this as a joke but then I thought - why not? That perhaps in the Star Wars universe, "magic" is one of the fundamental forces of the universe alongside gravity, electromagnetism etc. It'd explain so much like the above, or how user interfaces appear to be intuitive based rather than text. That the force is just an especially potent form of the resting level of magic that threads through the universe; so everyone can pick up some baseline etc.

    LOL

I posted my reply and then read this!
Must be those damn midichlorians again!

Best one of season 2 so far

Yeah but now I like the thought of The Child using him. :)

So Gideon is starting to use Cylons?

I think I only realised Gina Carrano has a rebel tattoo on her face and not a beauty mark.

Was the badge a calling card or something else? Wonder if that guy become an ally.

Could be Dark Troopers from the old Jedi Knight games.

    What was going on with
Ruairi Quinn in the orange jumpsuit at the end? Presume he 's with the 'rebellion', who I suppose are the authorities by this stage. Why wasn't Greef Karga telling him the full story about the raid on the base? Do they want to keep them away from Baby Yoda?

It's kinda hinted at in this and previous episodes that the New Republic has very little presence in the outer rim and the locals don't want them involved. Grief also stated the planet could become a major trade hub so probley doesn't want some muppets coming in and messing things up now he and Cara have the place sorted out.

Would have loved if they had let Carson Teva walk away from Cara Dunne with an, "Okay, see you!"

I'm presuming that the New Republic are now the top dog in the seat of power (Coruscant) and are extending their reach into the outer planets - which are the locations we are seeing in 'The Mandalorian'. But, the outer rim areas are still suspicious of authority, irrespective of who that is, Rebellion or Empire.

Plus Karga isn't exactly a kosher chap. He may be trying to run a town now on the up and up, but his previous job was dubious, to say the least. He was dishing out bounties from whomever. Authorities aren't probably he greatest fan, New Republic or otherwise.

Also, Mando's "quest" is to deliver baby Yoda to the Jedi and the Rebellion, now the biggest party in the galaxy, may try to get in the way. As far as our heroes know anyway.

Great episode - although I was half hoping when the camera...
panned to the test-tubes / bacta-tanks in the lab that we were going to see a failed attempt of a cloned Kit-fisto or Plo Koon - there goes that theory!

My hopes for a force infused Salacious Crumb clone were also dashed.

    It had everything, Comedy, Action,

I wonder does the comedy undermine the action though. Blue Gill Man was clearly there as a C3PO comedic callback, but does it make any in-world sense to bring a nervous nelly like that on a serious mission?

Easily the best episode of the season. Bit of humour, fun scenes, characters to care about, furthered the storyline at last, and it flew by.

I'm under the impression that the reason for the child is to
help with the cloning of palpatine. They needed a blood sample with a high 'm' count, which I assume means midiclorians. It would be in keeping with what they're doing out in the arsehole of nowhere. That said, the Rise of Skywalker was utter dirt, so hopefully it has nothing to do with it.

The other thing I could see is maybe they're building an elite cadre of cloned/genetically engineered force wielders. That'd be more in keeping with the theme of the Mandalorians as being specialist anti-force-wielding warriors. It'd set things up nicely for them to be the only ones who could defeat them, with the Jedi still not really being a thing.

    I absolutely loved this episode.
everything was on point and felt like oldskool starwars.
loved the humour. loved the child in the spotlight. ( some amazing and funny scenes)

I take my hat off to Cark Weathers. I was worried but it was 10/10...... Bravo

It was supposed to be more straightforward though.

2.4: That felt like it slow burned a bit at first but then it just kept ramping up. That was kinda cool. So to me it looks like
they are harvesting blood from anyone they can find who is force adept to feed into their cloning process. So I'm guessing this is part of the build up to the Snoke/Palpatine situation. Then these new troopers (or maybe just armour) combined with Bo-Katan and her troops.. has me thinking we going to see a BIG fight towards the end of the season.

    My fear now is that.....
since they cant get enough blood from mini-Yoda, Gus Fring turns his attention to bleeding Ashoka! Be a bad ending for that character as a means of rationalising The Last Skywalker!
