    Hi there,

Been advised that an extraction of premolar and Invisalign will correct my class 2 division 2 malocclusion. Long established and very reputable Ortho in Dublin. I'm told 15-18 months and almost 5k.
I've heard of people getting Invisalign from 'chain' type Ortho places for closer to 3k. As you are just changing trays every few weeks is if really with paying so much extra to go to established Ortho for this, won't Invisalign basically send back same treatment no matter who you attend??? Advice much appreciated.

the orthodontist decides the treatment, invasalign just make the aligners to the prescription. The success of failure of the treatment will depending in the planning and who does it, the aligners are just a tool, its the clinician thats the talent.

Not a specialist orthodontist, but other half is.
The more complex movement of teeth required, the more aligners are needed to move the teeth, and invisalign have different levels of treatment and lab fee as a result - your case sounds complicated - 5k sounds reasonable

Thanks to both of you for replying. Quick update, stuck with local ortho who has a great reputation and very close to where I live so convenient for appointments, started this week. I will need 44 trays in total which is a lot, lots of people might have about 20... it is costing 4.8k.

So far I’m very happy with decision although my mouth is very sore right now... I’ve been told this improves as your mouth adapts to wearing aligners so hopefully this is true.
