    Hi,

I am looking at upgrading the guts of an old Onkyo 5.1 system to a 5.1.2 Atmos setup. I intend to keep the standard 5 speakers from the old but will need a new receiver, active-sub and height pair. It's for use in a 6mx6m converted attic space, I prefer accuracy over volume (as I think would my neighbour :)) and add on services like streaming and the like are not a priority, I already have sources for those. So, basically 'just' 5.1.2 surround for a smallish space at close to normal TV listening levels.

I was thinking of the following:
    DENON AVRX2400 - https://euro.richersounds.ie/p-13044-319314.aspx
    Eltax Monitor ATM - https://euro.richersounds.ie/p-203576-402948.aspx
    YAMAHA YSTFSW050 - https://euro.richersounds.ie/p-10571-ystfsw050.aspx
    8m CAMBRIDGE AUDIO SYMPHONY 300 - https://euro.richersounds.ie/p-100247-symphony-300.aspx

    Would you recommend this mix?
And if so can you do a deal on the bundle?

    Thanks.
What make are your current speakers? For the most part I would recommend what you have selected. The only thing i would change is the sub.  While the Yamaha is a good unit at it's price point, the likes of the  Monitor audio mrw10https://euro.richersounds.ie/p-12485-black-313213.aspx would be a better buy.

    Hi Stephen,

Thanks for the prompt reply and apologies for my own delay, this is part of moving house so I'm not able to be online much at the moment. I know the sub is rock bottom but I really am just looking for cheap and cheerful for the moment. Before I emigrated and had to sell it I had a rig that could get me run out of town :D...now it's headphones and neighbor friendly volume levels. That said if you think the Monitor will provide better definition at lower volume levels then it is worth it. The existing speakers I am planning to re-use are just simple Onkyo kit pieces, SK(x)-360(x) where (x)= F/C/S for the position.

So if I upgrade the sub to the MRW10, can you do a deal on the lot?

    Thanks.

    Hey _CreeD_

The MRW10 would be a much better subwoofer over the Yamaha but there is a few quid of a difference.

Here are bundle deal prices for both setups
    AVRX2400
    Eltax ATM
    FSW050
    Symphony 300 x8 meters
I could offer at 645.83 Euro

With the MRW10 instead of the FSW050 would be 752.89 Euro. I'll go 750 Euro dead.

    Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks, the MRW10 bundle @750 looks good. What's the best way to proceed, call the store and mention this thread or ask for yourself?
