    71km/h gust in Waterford

was wondering what is different. It is the pitch of the gale. Usually a roar. This one has two voices. The dark low roar and the high pitched whistle.. Temp has dropped too... now we know what is really meant by "shiver me timbers."!

Back later if power holds... stay safe... yawn!

    48kts in Shannon (89km/h), I'd say it'll break the forecasted 50kts anyway

Callum with Hurricane Leslie out to the southwest (NOT coming here btw). Any chance of tropical moisture from Leslie bumping up our rainfall totals over the next couple of days I wonder?

Yes, the peak winds should now have passed by most of the south-western coastal peninsulas.

Storm a sustained roar beside Lough Currane in Waterville. Massive thunder and lightening storm out to sea. Wind strongest of the night right now.

The Shannon radar has a habit of going offline when you need it most. Performance anxiety perhaps.

Not much rain in this in Waterville. Ground dry already. T and L storm is spectacular. Ferocious gusts.

Just went for a walk here in Shannon and the wind doesn't seem anything out of the ordinary.

Been very windy the past two hours in South Tipp - it was not forecast to be more than yellow alert here - but wind died down somewhat. Torrential rain there for a few minutes, now more normal. Is the wind likely to pick up again? I thought it would have been later.

Strong winds here. Just woken by dogs barking.
It's just one continuous strong wind.

Saw earlier that it's peaking here in Wexford around 7-9am. It'll be wild then!

Constant breeze and strong gusts in Dublin 9. Need to get the tree out on the street dealt with, a few came down during Ali.

Just got woke by one of the kids, who was wakened by the noise.

It's getting windy now up here in North Donegal, probably more wet than windy, but the wind is started to whip up for sure.

Gonna be rough come the morning I'd say.

Very gusty now in Naas. UPC internet just went down (and triggered my "smart" alarm)

Definitely started here in Newbridge, bottle bin has gotten air and is now spewing contents very loudly across the tarmac

Pretty wild in Dublin 7, as I suspected earlier the combination of strong winds and heavy rains is really making this a very scary sounding storm. Last few to hit Dublin have been mostly dry wind storms, it makes a big difference!
