Does anyone ever get sick of the talk about averages?
It seems they speak about them non stop
I know it's important but lord...

It's legs like this why I love darts

"It's the timing " driving me mad this year

That's a great bounceback from Smith after the end of the 4th set. Fair play to him.

    A dead cat's bounce.

Standard overall is poor, raggedy enough performance from van Ger win

There's not a lot to talk about in darts so they revert to averages and darts per leg at every opportunity both of which can be very misleading.

I don't understand why Smith is signalling to someone in the crowd about the loud celebrations of MVG.
If MVG's celebrations are getting to him then it shows he isn't mentally strong enough to cope with a world final.

The constant looking to the crowd always pisses me off. Get on with your job. Reminds me of u10s on Saturday morning looking at their parents at the side of the pitch.

    6-2 to MVG

Smith has had his chances, just hasn't delivered in the big moments.

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,276 ✭✭✭✭mdwexford

Smith really bottling his chances here.

Complaining about god knows what isn’t doing any good either.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,811 ✭✭✭hawkwing

Smith at 95.24 has the worst final average since the hammer in 2012 at 90.83

Imagine if he was playing Price.

Said it previously, Smith looks class when everything is going his way but can crumble when pressure is applied

Still he’s young and hopefully he can. Work on that

F*ck sake should be 4-4, two sets pissed away

Ffs Smith could/should be making a right match of this, missing handy doubles at crucial times

I love how the Sky commentators are so impartial. Pricks

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,103 ✭✭✭ConcertKing

Crowd booing trying to put Van Gerwen off when he is going for doubles just like last year when it messed with his head against Cross!!!Absolute disgrace!!!

    Delighted for Van Gerwan!!!

    Almost there now!!!

    BOOOOOOM!!!!

Smith feeling sorry for himself, half the time he throws his third dart he's already walking to the board its some bottle job here.

I put it down to trying to generate excitement in a match that has had a few great moments/legs, but has really been a mismatch.

    No bottle.

Could've easily been 5-4 up. 6-2 down instead.

No different to Peter Wright or Dave Chisnall.
