    or Dave Chisnall.

Both he and Michael Smith are from St Helens. Must be something in the water around there

If Michael Smith was being 3D printed starting from the tip of his head to his toe. You'd be fairly certain after the first 3 inches that it was printing a skinny average man

His face is like a Bo Selecta mask

I love how the Sky commentators are so impartial. Pricks

I put it down to trying to generate excitement in a match that has had a few great moments/legs, but has really been a mismatch.
I know they have to try to do that but Mardle takes it to moronic lengths...

A lot of BDO references from the Sky commentators this year. Do they reckon it will all be the one very soon?

I certainly won't miss hearing Mardle a few times a week that's for sure. Absolute hack.

Fair play to Smith pulling that set off. MVG has been very poor on the T20 tonight.

Mvg’s arm went a bit floppy with thoughts of being world champ again!

Watched some "classic" match earlier, John Gwynne and Sid on commentary. Different gravy.

Michael Smith is the biggest bottler in darts when push comes to shove. He’ll never win a world championship

Putting up a good fight here though

Unbearable & disrespectful. If it were possible to listen to this in any other language I would.

They need to ditch Mardle and get Webster on in his place

Very poor final and lacking atmosphere. So disappointed.

Paul Hogan stands out for me for that match in the BDO a couple of years ago

Find myself close to nodding off during this, expected a much better match

Smith's body language is terrible. He needs a serious attitude adjustment if he ever wants to be a top player

    Overall MVG deserved it

    Now who can challenge him

    BOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!

    MIGHTY MICHAEL VAN GERWEN!!!!!!!

    YOUR 3 TIME WORLD CHAMPION!!!!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

Deserved win for MVG. Hopefully that spurs Smith on now again. Has made good strides this year. Needs to get those crucial doubles at the crucial times. Need more top players to keep it going.

Serious class from Smith shusshing the crowd not to boo MVG. For a lad averaging like 95 he actually did well. Congrats to MVG, just a machine.

Disappointing end to a desperately disappointing tournament for me

But Wayne Mardle says it's been a 'wonderful tournament' and surely he would know?

There trying to say it was a good final, Smith pushed him all the way etc. Absolute bs not a good final at all. Call it as it is.

£200,000 for runner up not a bad chunk of change

£500,000 for MVG **** me crazy money

These trophy presentations always come across so rushed and low rent
