Gary Anderson tonight and Michael Van Gerwen (tomorrow) would be fairly well known within the darts world.

Oh right I was looking at this list of odds

    https://www.oddschecker.com/darts/pdc-world-championship

Presumably those guys aren't on it because there has to be preliminary matches to establish their opponents

I feel like an impostor in this thread: other than Dolan, I've never heard of any of the players featuring over the next three days...

Enjoy it, it’s addictive, keep an eye on the darts forum and you’ll be up to speed in no time :)

Don't let that put you off, there can still be some great matches, and what better way to get to know some of the lesser known players?

I was in the same boat last year and got to see some of the best up and coming youngsters, and I always enjoy watching the qualifiers from further afield. Their championship is just playing in the finals so it can be very enjoyable to watch.

Paul Lim's match against Gary Anderson early on was one of the highlights of the tournament for me.

Watch Van Gerwen, Anderson or Michael Smith if you can.

Hoping Barnard hits the double with his first dart cos it’s so painful waiting for him to throw the second and third!

More of a crowd than I expected. Will be interesting to see what crowds the afternoon sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week bring.

I watched the first set and then had to collect the kids from school and then make lunch for everyone and we all eat our lunch and then checked in and they were just finishing the second set.

De Sousa is not quick but I am praying hope against hope that he wins

Impossible to shout for someone as slow as the likes of Barnard and Pipe

    This is going to 5-5

and I can see the 11th being won with a 45 dart leg

Will be some contrast in styles vs Wattimena

So just because he was playing a woman then yeah? You wouldn't bat an eyelid if he did the exact same head but/fist pump had he been playing a man.

No. Where did i say that?

I just don’t like over celebrating on stage in general.

I've done both sessions at the BDO in one day, a long day and a strange one removed from natural light from about midday!

(plus the Lakeside Country Club is stuck in the 70's :pac: )
