    Hi there

I am English and my wife is Irish - from County Cork.

At present we are living in the UK but are are looking at moving permanently to Ireland in the next 12 months or so. I am a dentist and my wife is a GP. She already has a firm job offer for a GP job in Cork city.

Ideally we would like to buy a house in Ireland prior to us moving or selling our UK property. I would like to know if it is possible to get a mortgage on an Irish property while we are in the UK being paid in Sterling. If so, what are the requirements for this? We have seen a potentially suitable property within commuting distance of Cork city which is priced at €325000 to give some idea of the price point we are looking at.

    Any help much appreciated

    Regards

    Keith
