What closures will be in place around Galway? The Prom I assume?

From looking at the satellite the winds are peaking in the storm at about 90km/hr at the moment? Are they expected to rise or is it cooling off?

Very, topped over at Spanish arch but water dam has contained, Wolfe Tone bridge closed.. Its a foot down from bteeching at insurance building across the canal from ravens terrace. Lough atalia also very high but I think it recedes soon..

Wow, so the dam actually works? Actually I don't know has it made a difference since it came into use?

Seems like we're through the worst of it with the winds dropping soon. Plenty more rain until Sunday. Didn't seem nearly as windy as that one from a month ago.

Fair play to the council and defense forces for taking successful preventative measures. We're all pretty quick to criticize when something goes wrong. Should give kudos when they get it right.

Does that mean a better view of the big screen for next year's All Ireland final?

Not unless the screen is on the road. The tree in question was opposite Garveys. Sad to see what were probably the two oldest trees in the Square gone in the last few weeks.

The Precious is as grand as ever it was.

And there are now two big stumps waiting for some artistic types to carve them. (I guess they have to dry first.)
